they might not be swollen... if you can feel them that just means that theyre peasized lymphnodes which is totally normal... I have em too and had my doc look at em...she said no worries. I would just recommend exercising and drinking lots of water to keep your lymph moving..its very important. =)

Well mumps is going around right now, expecially in college towns. May want to get that checked out. Could also be mono, strep, the flu, a cold, plague, stress, bad hair day, got out of the wrong side of bed, etc. In short just about anything can cause your lymph nodes to swell some fine some not so fine. I'd say get it looked at if you can.

It happens to me after a long night of drinking, a lot. It can happen from a lot of stuff. Just drink a lot of hot tea and relax.

    GO to the DOCTOR.

Swollen lymph nodes could be such a range of things, you don't want to fuck around with it.

As far as I know swollen lymph nodes is a result of infection. The only time I have EVER had swollen lymph nodes is when I gauged my ear and it became terribly infected [and no, I wasn't dumb, it happened very suddenly]

Sometimes infections/viruses/diseases don't show much of any symptom or pain at all. So if something odd happens, it's always best to get it checked out to be SAFE.

    That's my two cents.

Edit to say: Sometimes you can't just blow shit off. And from what I know, I've never known myself or anyone else to just have their lymph nodes swell up one day for no big, apparent reason. Also, there's a HUGE difference between your lymph nodes and your glands along your neck...If you have swollen glands around your throat it could be less serious, but if youre positive it's your lymph nodes, please get it checked out.

usually when your lymph nodes are swollen, they are painful to touch.

if you go to a doctor, and they find your lymph nodes are swollen because of an infection, theyre going to prescribe antibiotics. i dont deny that antibiotics save lives, but doctors seem to be a little too antibiotic happy. which, in addition to encouraging bacteria to mutate into forms not affected by the medication, also has side effects like yeast infections and constipation. at this point you go back to the doctor and they prescribe something to make the side effects of the antibiotics go away, which is the scam of modern medicine, in my opinion.

im fighting an infection now. i was stung by a scorpion on the toe(i didnt have a bad allergic reaction, in fact it was a nice high!) and the sting got infected so badly that my boyfriend didnt think id make it through the night. i went to the emergency room, to find out if i would die before i got to the naturpath the next morning, and ended up getting into an argument with the doctor and nurse. they even threatend me that if i didnt take the antibiotics within a few days, id be back in a week to get them intravenously! i was so upset that they didnt respect my decision about my health, that i left crying.

my experience with the naturopath was much better. im taking a supplement pill of herb extracts (two horsepills every hour while im awake!) to boost my immune system and a homeopathic tablet every hour to keep down the swelling. and the doctor told me to keep soaking my foot in the tea made from creosote and yerba mansa.

    and im absolutely fine now!

so there, i used your pain as an excuse to rant! what a jerk i am...

but heres my advice to you:
    eat garlic!
and pay the extra money for the hippy doctor!
(actually the dr. visit was about $70 bucks, not any more than a regular dr.
the medicines were like $15 each though)

    <3
    hope you feel better soon

awww thanks guys, i think i figured out what it was...
i always wear wooden earings, even if i know my ears can't take anyhting that's not silver, i still can't wear anything else but wood...hehe and so my ears got really infected, i didn't think it's such a big thing, being the ear lobe and all, didn't care, so i just left the infection there for months...
now i stopped wearing earings and the swelling went away...:(

That's EXACTLY what happened to me, and that's the only time my lymph node has EVER swelled...

Only I was wearing an acrylic hoop. :p
