I think the rock 'n' role need a movement of purification---the return to the original foundation of rock laid by Elvis, Beatles, Rolling Stone, Grateful Dead, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix and more, and to eliminate the influence of punk, heavy metal, pop, hip hop and other impure elements.
Sorry man, I think that would be completely missing the point of rock and roll. Rock and Roll wasn't even a pure style to begin with, none of those artists played the same brand of rock and roll throughout their careers, they knew they had to grow and change or it would get boring as hell (look at the stones the last 30 years). btw, i'm not being an apologist for the stuff you don't like either, but it has it's place. besides what good would it be if there was only "good" music. Nobody would think it was great because it wouldn't seem as special next to stuff that isn't as "good". There are also a lot of bands out there now that are making really good stuff, you just have to look for it. You could also start playing and writing music. Be the change you want to see in the world, set an example and people might follow it.
