I want to sacrifice a pair of jeans to make shorts. Does anyone know of a good way of doing this?

Also - what could i do with the left-over denim??

    thanks

an idea for the leftover denim, cut it into square patches. my mom has been doing this with any cut off or ruined jeans in our house for a few years now and finally has enough to start working on a cool denim quilt she's been planning.

Leftover denim! You can do soooo much! Start with some cool wristbands...move on to a little patchie wristlet...then work your way up to making your own homemade paper!

Hello, If your going to make shorts, Find a pair of jean shorts you already have that you like the length of. Match up the waistbands and draw the shorts on the pants ( Be sure to leave extra legth if your going to fridge them or make a hem.....but fringing looks so much more cute.) Oh , and the leftover denim..... you could make a matching purse or a headband.....anything really. But the best part of it is, whatever you make will match perfectly. Have fun! Oh you could experiment with bleaching too.

You could make a bag from the remaining denim, cut it up to make patchwork pieces and add patches of contrasting fabric, applique designs etc.
