When choosing between I and II, we compare X and k*Y'. Where k is the relative worth of an Iranian vs American life.

From what you wrote, both of us beleive that k=1 and we both want the governement to act as if k>1.

The US government has a responsibility to protect the lives of its citizens. One life lost is too much.

If iran continues to be a belligerent towards the US and pursues a way to attack the US then the government of Iran is responsible for all deaths that would occur because of a US airstrike, not the US. The blood would be on their hands.


There is no need to compare death counts..thats irrelevant. And it is NOT at odds with the statement that iranian life is worth as much as american life.

its funny that america can't understand if they continually threaten other countries with nuclear attack carpet bombing, rolling thunder, shock and awe, and some more nuclear weapons - then maybe, just maybe the other countries start thinking well if they are telling us they plan to attack , have attacked other countries they start thinking hey we need some serious defence against these maniacs.

Skip you need to realize that in the dirty world of politics and global issues sometimes things that aren't a big deal seem to be a big deal and things that are a big deal are toned down to not seem lik a big deal. I am sure the US would love to start a war with Iran, well the US government anyway...and I am sure that Bush and his Handlers are definitly insane enough to nuke them...good thing we have Generals who can stop that...let's hope they do...but RIGHT NOW in this current time they wouldn't be able to do it...and to me this whole leak looks like a fake...some guy in the pentagon was probably told by his higher ups to leak this on purpose to scare the Iranian government into thinking we might nuke them...the US government uses Pysch Warfare on other countries all the time, they release fake news reports all the time...and they don't even tell us...the only way we could nuke Iran right now is if Iran attacked us first, and i don't doubt that our own black ops element of our government would carry out an attack, blame it on Iran, and then attack them...let's hope that doesn't happen. I would not be happy having a nuclear armed iran, people seem to be saying iran wont use these weapons because we will nuke them back .

Ive been reading speeches from iran for years, and I wouldnt be suprised to see a first strike coming from iran as soon as it gets nuclear weapons, most likely against isreal or if it had the delivery system against the states .

Iran itself is very unstable and if the mullahs were ever about to lose power they might well choose that time to launch a attack.

The thing with all this is not everyone thinks alike, mutual destruction might work with the soviet union who were a atheist state, but would it work with a crazy death cult that believes that if they die fighting you they will go to heaven .
