ya well my poems don't get replies at other forums based on poetry. hopefully I'll be in my atmosphere here hehe. I think it's cause most of them deal with controversial issues like drugs, communism, the contempt I hold for America, etc. anyway here's one of my favorites.. I wrote it half yesterday half today.

    Can you feel it?
    The Beat’s coming once again
    Can you hear it?
    The Beat’s humming again

How wonderful to be On the Road.
Pick up vagabonds young and old
Flow through life as you go
Watch, as the Beat grows and grows.

    Can you feel it now?
    Hear it now?
    See it now?
    Let’s make Lennon proud.

Go out, shout it and scream it!
“I love freedom, America, I love freedom!
But I do not love you anymore, America.
Go fuck yourself if you think I'm fighting for
    your superficial needs!"

I don’t want to be a patriot anymore.
    I question authority
Is this now a crime too?
    I don’t trust conformity
Not to your norms at least

    It’s been 50 years now…
and we still haven’t ended the human war
We plan on continuing according to Mr. Bush

"Get out of the car with
    your hands above your head!"
    Dear officer I love drugs
    I DAREd to dabble
And it made me a better person
There are far worse addictions to have
I can name a few if you’d like.
Besides ole Georgie is addicted to oil
    along with money

    Citizens of the U.S.A.,
    Do you enjoy TV?
Enjoy the media? Of course you do
    Captivated by FOX news network
I get my news from the actions of politicians
    Not from what I’m told
I go by what I see, what I feel.

    The Beat pulsates
    And grows and grows…

The only war I want to fight
    Is one against religion
    God send another Jesus
    Then I might believe
    Allah send another Muhammad
    I might believe
Aw what the hell, Satan you send someone too

    America, a symbol of greed
    America, I miss your trees
America, you want me to be
    Everything that’s unnatural to me

    There are few free
    In the land of liberty
    You and me
    Let’s plant the seed
    And watch the trees
    Smoke the weeds
    And feel the breeze
Carrying the answers with their winds

    And when,
When you can hear the answers
    Blowing in the wind
Incite a riot from the truths you’ve realized

    I can see Dylan smiling
    Ginsberg’s laughing,
Sal and Dean are just drunk
    Which is fine with me

    Looking back on older days
How the Beat grew in days past
Only to be suppressed by the 80s
Suppressed by possessions, money, and greed
    Among other things

    And I stand here
    On this lonely hill
Waiting for the wind to pick up
    Gazing wistfully at the horizon
    Orange and red hues colliding

I take a drag off the sweet fumes of freedom
    Contemplating America’s future
    Contemplating humanity’s fate
And my hat is blown from atop my head
Carried off down the hill by the calm zephyr
I only hope that the wind picks up
    And the beat goes on
    On and on.

I like it man. Not that I hate America, at least in theory. I don't like what we've become. And yeah, it is a regrettably calm wind. Blow, wind, blow!

ya, I need to tweak it a bit though but it's close to what I want out of it. maybe a stanza encouraging revolt... I was going to add a marxist theme to it but left that by the wayside because a lot of my other poems deal with marxism.
