My friend informed me that he has just celebrated his 5th year of sobriety. He took his lady out to lunch and the two of them had NA beers. Well, here is the thing. I use to serve those at Busch Gardens but I wasn't allowed to sell them to people under 21 because they technically had a percentage of beer in them. Should I tell my friend that he should becareful about drinking it?

have a chat to him but don't blame or point any figures, start the conversation with 'I was under the impression...'

there's probably more alcohol in cough syrup. if he's been sober for 5 yrs, then he's doing something right. i think he'd be able to tell if he was getting a buzz

i'd probably say something to him, but more along the lines of how proud you are of him, bla bla and then slip in the bit about wondering if he's 'allowed' to have the near beeer.

Some people in recovery would freak out if they heard it had even a drop of alcohol in it. Others wouldn't be bothered by it. I would tell him to be careful because SOME non-alcoholic beers actually do contain a small percentage of alcohol, and just leave it at that.

I just don't want him to get sick. I know he's been working so hard atit and I hate to see a stupid marketing play mess it up for him.

Be like "non-alcoholic, huh? Lemme see that bottle. Oh? What's this? Looks like there's alcohol in this."

what the hot chick said ;)

Just make it casual, like "hey, you know those still have a wee bit of alcohol, right? Ok, just wanted to make sure you weren't under any mistaken impressions, yaknow... lemme buy you one/acoffee/a tea/whatever"

    I agree.

I wouldn't worry about it. I think he knows by now and has done an excellent job so far.
