Yeah, the title pretty much says it all. It is a movie about the 4th plane that was crashed in Penn. by the hostages. Apparently in a New York theatre when the preview came on, people were crying, and others were shouting "too soon". That last part really struck me as odd as there has been a Discovery Channel special on this flight. I dunno, what are your opinions on it?
im interested to see it.. and although i think it is a more sensitive subject for some than others (obviously people who knew victums of the flight might feel much more vulnerable to this movie), i still think that it is a good thing available to those who want to see it.
boycott this movie, its nothing but propaganda to stir up emotions to justify the bullshit that bush and his admin and the globalists have been doing....9/11 was an inside job and a coverp, and i for one will never pay to see any 9/11 movie unless thats what it says.
I suppose I'll probably go see it in the theaters, but I'm not particularly excited about it. After all, I think we all know how it ends. Honestly, I'm cautiously more excited to see World Trade Center, the new Oliver Stone film about 9/11. I'm cautious because I saw Alexander, and I hope that Stone pulls himself out of that self-referential, self-indulgent career phase and starts making good movies again.
I doubt they show the part where the fighters clip the wing...sure to be heavy on conjecture. I wonder why someone would choose to go see the movie, and then yell out too soon. It's nothing I want to see.
I do believe it is going to be propaganda to justify Bush. I also believe it's gross and exploitative. I also believe that it is wrong to try to ban movies. Be it Battle Royale, Cannibal Holocaust, or United 93, you never ban a movie! I don't think you would like your art, your message censored.
They didn't go to see the movie, they were at another movie, and the preview came on and they were shouting it
I just came from the theater. United 93 is an emotional experience. Close up shots of the passengers, air traffic controllers and terrorists put us right in the events of 9/11. It all comes back, the planes flying into the twin towers and the Pentagon. We recall Todd Beamer and "Let's roll" although the film subdues his call to arms. Paul Greengrass wrote and directed United 93. He spent time with the families of the victims. His is a sympathetic portrayal. Even the terrorists are human. They are obviously nervous and are shown muttering prayers to their god. They believe in their twisted mission. A picture of the U.S. Capitol is posted on the control panel in the cockpit, so we assume it was the target of the 4th plane, not the White House. 100 MOVIES http://jimcolyer.com/papers/entry?id=28
I just saw it last night. I must say, like jim said, it was pretty emotional....when the plane crashed at the end, the whole theatre was silent, and not a single person talked on the way out....I've never seen a more sombre audience following a movie. You can very easily tell that Bush played a big role in the attacks...when the army was trying to get some planes up to shoot down the hijacked planes, they couldn't get a hold of him for the longest time (of course, he was just so simply placed at that school, out of any harms way), then when they did, he would only give premission for 4 to go up, all unarmed. Now, if that's not fishy, I don't know what is. It's hard to believe that it really happened....and seeing the planes fly into the towers in a movie seems to make the reality of the situation surreal..... The heroisism of the people on the flight was great, though. There was one point, where the passengers all got together to take over and 'changed' at the one terrorist with the bomb. This was right toward the end of the movie...they managed to break into the cockpit and attempted to take over the steering, but through the barrage of all the people, the plane hit the ground. Although, I swear that was a picture of the white house he had......
lol, wtf? Ok maybe I'm wrong here, but uhh, anybody else see this as pretty dirty (a capitalist venture that makes profits off the story of a real-life RECENT massacre)? I think it's dirty as hell, that everything is a business/scam. Leave it to america.
My girlfriend was telling me she saw the commercial for this shit the other day, we had a pretty good laugh over the Let's Roll part.
I thought "United 93" was incredibly well-done, and I thought that Paul Greengrass made a huge effort to just tell a story and leave the politics out of it as much as possible. My complete review: http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-XivTzYA8abXpzGMrJFI-?cq=1&p=40
thats what i thought. and what politics were in it, were actually showing the suspision of the government being involved in the attacks.
I think it is sick how hollywood feels it has to profit on the deaths of these people...My mom actually got mad at me when I told her I would never watch it.
On an interesting Note.... Cost to make and produce "Flight 93" $15,000,000 (http://www.nbc11.com/entertainment/9118214/detail.html) Money given to fund the 9-11 commission $15,000,000 (http://www.9-11commission.gov/about/faq.htm) They spent as much making Flight 93 as they did investigating the ACTUAL attacks on this nation, this is so pathetic...do you still believe theres no coverup?
