Fear and loathing in Las Vegas

Dude! I can't believe the coincidence. I just finished watching it like 5 minutes ago. Fucking weird!
But I agree with DarkLunacy, a lot of people praise this movie for the wrong reasons. I didn't even get half the stuff until I read some of the reviews.
But yeah, definitly a brilliant piece of work. My favorite Depp movie.

 

ok ive pretty much got the fact that you havent actuly watched the movie or read the book, and if you have then you did a pretty shitty job of it because the whole situation was a over dramatazation of what would happen if she was ever taken back home, what happend was lucky ran away from home because she wanted to meet barbra strisand (spelling?) if her parents ever found her or the police they wouldnt believe duke or gonzo or her that nothing realy happend that the whole story would be blown up and she would probably go along with it to save herslef, hence why they had to get rid of her, and she actuly calls them later when she comes down and asks when she can see Gonzo again but then once again they give her the slip. and im not glorifying shit, people dont understand this movie they think wow drugsm this is awesome im sorry but i actuly enjoy it for different reasons, also to bad i quit smoking weed so i wont see this movie high and i never have so that realy doesnt matter

 

Such a great movie! The book is awesome too, but i find the whole race part boring.

Fear and Loathing is the biggest waste of time. It's not even entertaining.


IMO Watching someone trip is pretty lame. It's more fun just to do it yourself.

 

Your still saying theres nothing wrong with hopping a 15 year old up on acid then dropping them off at a Las Vegas chappel. Tell me what was right and true with what they did... Go on

 

just because someone likes the movie Sin City doesn't mean they think killing people or being a hooker is cool...

i know many people who are 15 and have done acid, also they droped her off at a chappel im sure she was in terrible trouble with jesus, im sure he got very pissed and told god so she wouldnt get into heaven. its a fictional movie which questions morals, do you want to keep bitching about this? because i dont ive already proved my side many times

 

I've been told this movie has to be watched on acid to be understood properly.

I've never watched it on acid, but it's still the fucking sickness. one of the best movies i've seen.

 

The movie is called "Fear and Loathing... ", I don't think it is glorifiying anything and since it is based on real events it is semi-autobiographical. Wether a person agrees or disagrees with it, a lot of the stuff in the film really happened.


I think that overall, Terry Gilliam did a good job of adapting this book to film.

 

"We can stop here - THIS IS BAT COUNTRY!!!" - now i don't know about you but watching them have that trip put me on fits of giggles. it was just pure class, with the fly swatter n everything!

Also, watching people trip can be a very amusing experience at times.
