hmm... i find that to be slight bullshit since hes gonna be attending the NORML confrence in San Fran on 4/20
Even if Chong were to quit, no way in hell he is going to 'change his image.' Once you've become a pop culture icon, that's it man.
thats like hendrix saying he never did drugs. all the celebs say shit like that to get the cops off their backs. they could care less what their fans think, they just want t o be able to smoke in peace. i'm sure he still smokes although maybe not as much its like snoop dogg sayign he quit and a couple days later he is back on it he's already been arrested for selling bongs and gotten bad publicity because of the marijuana monologues so he just wants to lay under the radar im sure
Snoop said the same damn shit its not going to happen BUT seeing as how he got caught selling bongs to kids not too long ago he might have to for parole
it was his website. he and his wife had a site called nice dreams or something that sold pipes and bongs and shit. it got shut down and he got arrested. thats why in That 70s show he kinda dissapears for a while and pops up again
No, he financed the business and oversaw it for his son. Haha... I should do my research paper on Tommy Chong.
so it wasnt the fact that he was selling bongs, but to whom he was selling them? im confused, i guess ive "smoked myself retarded" lmao
I dunno, there's a lot of technicalities in the sale of bongs. The non-sketchy headshops in my town are really anal about everything, including terminology. According to their signs, anyone using drug terminology will be escorted from the premises, and many signs warn that these apparati are for TOBACCO USE ONLY....man. Plus, the non-sketchy places also check ID.
I see some of you can't seperate Tommy's screen persona with his real life. Look, Arnold Swertchenegger isn't a cyborg, Courtney Cox Arquette isn't married to Matthew Perry, and Fran Drescher isn't a nanny. Tommy Chong isn't an out-of-control stoner; he's an actor.
theres no way he could ever "change his image" he will forever be Chong from Cheech & Chong. that guy who smoked "recycled" weed that burnout hippy from 70s show
But in addition to his induction as an icon from a highly-glorified era and with fans perhaps described as cult-like about it, his personal conduct and subsequent clashes with the law make it easy to believe that he is out of control. I'm not saying that is necessarily the case (I don't really believe it is), but it's pretty easy to predict the reaction and assumptions of the masses.
The reason he went to prison is because he was selling bongs across state lines via the net. The whole interstate thing
