So, just last night I got charged with possesion of less than an ounce. I am 17 and they said the minimum fine would be $750 and the juvenile court would contact me later. I was driving, hadn't had a drink all night, but I had smoked but he let me off on the DUI. Just wondering if anyone knows what might happen?

if its your first offense.. they're probably give your the $750 minimal or enough community service time to cover the fine... and probably put you on probation for a couple months.. maybe send you to some stupid classes depending on how strict they decide to be... shit.. in minnesota ya would have gotten a fine no larger than $200... thank you MN
holy fucking christ man, you have all my sympathy, 750 bucks can really fuck up someone's summer (with it coming up and all). i'd hate to get slapped with that. hope you can pay it off alright
im not sure if theyve passed the law where you only get a ticket for less then 30 g of weed in canada yet so i think im basically in the clear
i would guess so...but i never read a law on "under the influence of marijauna while driving" but i guess it would go under a DUI, but since they didnt give you a DUI(yet) then i dont think they will, just a fine. but your parents on the other hand will tear ya license to shreads
Well, they already have, but no matter what for possession of any drug, no matter the quantity there's a minimum suspension of 6 months unless you can convince the court otherwise.
The coolest kid on the bus? This is a serious issue, I don't take it lightly and if by that you mean it makes someone cool to get busted for possession, my situation is very far from that.
You want to know how not to get caught for posession? Don't possess it. Do you want to know how not to get caught for dui? Don't drive after smoking, its your own dumbass fault you won't have a license til October.
Well, the lesson I learned here is to be much more carefull and responcible about it. Yes, I probably won't be able to drive for 6 months, but I wont have a car anyways.
dude i just got busted with a roach and so far its cost my $500 to get out of jail... and im sure its gonna cost me plenty more before this is over.... and that was just my first ofence..... 35 years and only been busted by the law with pot once...... not bad..... being busted........ not good....
in mich. if u get busted driving stoned its a big ticket..... i think its something like operating onder the influince of a controled substance..... and it can b expensive if u is unfortunate enough to get busted 4 it.....
