My cat, who is approximately nine months old now...is typically an inside cat, but I took him outside on Friday (we are trying to teach him to walk on a leash)...later on Friday night, my bf noticed his eyes were all red, swollen, and watery...then Saturday morning we saw him scratching them and they were all crusty...still red and swollen...

Could this be allergies? How can we tell? Is there any product that we can buy to get rid of this? I feel bad for him...they itch like crazy. We bought him some cat eye wipes to clean his eyes with today, and we're hoping this helps.

    Anyone experience this before?

It's been a holiday weekend, so we haven't had the chance to take him in. After researching it a bit...it's possible he may have herpesvirus or chlamydia...weird.

my cat has had something similar. its most likey something that will require a vet and some meds. my cat was given eye ointment and it cleared up. but if you have more than one animal i would seperate them as it's probably contagious.
