Gardenias are my fave flower, and I want to plant some. However, I've done research all over the place and no one can answer this one simple question...

    Will gardenias grow in Florida?

They should grow there... as long as they don't freeze, they're usually fine. Don't drown them, but make sure the soil is dampish... they love sun. We used to have like twelve plants in California... I miss them. :( I bought one at a farmer's market a few months ago, but we had a surprise overnight freeze and I lost it.

Jungle Gardenia was Elvis's favorite perfume on a chick.... :D

Gardenias grow well in Florida. I have them growing at both my Brooksville and Tampa houses. Both bushes are old and established, and both are partly shaded.
