At first I was extremely turned off of him when i saw "roger and me" about the closing of gm's plant in flint, michigan. After a while I decided to give him another chance and watched both " bowling for columbine" and "ferinheight 911" and i absolutely loved them. Yes, he takes quite the liberal view on everything he does.... but i will admit he makes very valid points. so its up for discussion what did you think of these movies?
I thought they were okay. Nothing special. Michael Moore annoys the fuck out of me. He talks to everyone as if they're a child. I'm not really a fan.
i liked bowling for columbine, but i couldn't stand farinheight 9/11. i didn't know he had done anything else. is roger and me the only other film of his? or are there a whole bunch i just had no clue about?
they were absolute crap and both people that said that they liked one of his films couldn't eve spell fahrenheit (c'mon guys I'm a junior in highschool and I had absolutely no trouble with that one) and he does not take a fully liberal view either, especially not in Bowling for Columbine, in Bowling for Columbine he counters out his own points multiple times he's a douche he does not really care about these issues, it is apparent, he is just getting rich of dumbasses that fall for his crap
I find Michael Moore's films to be entertaining, but I would classify his movies as propoganda, not documentary. There are plenty of true events to talk about in reference to the subjects he's chosen without having to edit one's personal point of view into the films so blatently. He's obviously after the shock media appeal to get his name and message out there, but the problem is that too many of his arguments can be refuted because of the way he edited to make them that I think he does more harm than good in his fight for the "liberal" cause.
manson really stole the show in bowling for coliumbine. But I really enjoyed that movie. I do kinda see your point mrsshf about them being mostly propaganda and can easily be refuted. Look at Farenheit 9/11 (shitty movie in my opinion). If anyone had the right research they could have refuted his claims easily. He is after the shock media appeal because both of those movies were about two major events that "shocked" the world. In a matter of speaking ( a very lengthy one at that) I'm just trying to say that I agree with you. Sorry bout the length I'm at work at 4:30 am and its really slow.
Michael Moore is an establishment tool. I frankly dislike the man immensely. Roger & Me wasn't bad, but his last two major films turned me off a lot. One was an anti-gun propaganda film, while the other totally whitewashed the REAL events of September 11th. All I can do is ask the question of who this guy is really working for. Moore is nothing more than a multi-millionaire Hollywood goon. Movies like Fahrenheit 9/11 do more to mislead than inform.
You're right, that guy's HUGE! But about his movies, not very good. He's an anti gun bastard that will eventually eat himself to death.
