    i'm in school
everyone knows me as a hippie
    here's my problem..

i know this sounds immature, but my science teacher keeps making "jokes" and rude comments about my hippiedom, my long hair, and all this other stuff, i was considering going to the counciller and telling her that i was going to boycott science class until they get the teacher to quit making these comments at my expense. she doesn't do this to anyone else in the school, only me, but then again i'm the only hippie there. still not giving her a rite to rag on me the way she does. if my plan paid off it would probably be the only thing like this in the history of our school.

The only outcome I forsee is you failing science...Perhaps talk to your parents and have them talk to the principal about changing classes?

well it's too late into the year to change classes, you only have like the first two weeks into the school year to transfer, that would have been my first choice

that's gonna happen all your life.the only reasonable thing for you to do is to answer by joking about her;nothing too much, you don't want to be kicked out of school.just enough to "fight back".
whatever you do,remember this is a thing of expressing your opinions and having guts.worse things will happen.stupid people will discriminate you all your life for your looks and ideeas.

you could have had it harder.i've almost got kicked out of highschool for "being part of a sect".also i had my teeth messed up and i had to eat liquids for about a week.some dudes didn't liked my long hair,so they kicked me in the mouth untill they got tired.of course, this ended up with my friends and their friends'friends and a bunch of gypsies storming a bar where the bad guys hanged out and police chasing some innocent folks...oh well, you get my point.it's a hard life being different and standing up for your ideeas.you eighter deal with it or quit, but you should be prepared.

well,i guess not.but she can.and stupid people can be teachers too,it's not fair to discriminate the stupid, you know.they iz people too...seriously,now that's one of the reasons to be against the sistem.being in charge doesn't mean being right.but since she can screw up your whole future,i say eighter stand the crap untill you graduate, then prove her how stupid she is,or admit defeat and get conventional.

i figured that doing this would show her that she's in the wrong, and shouldn't be able to get away with makin these comments at my expense, i guess what you look at it from ur guys' point of view it does look like i'm giving in and letting her get her way

Just talk personnaly to your teacher and tell her you're sick of being discriminated. If she doesn't stop making these comments, yes, you should boycott her class.

    Anyway, who needs science nowadays?

Nah, just kidding, science is important...or is it?

colors got the right idea. you should talk to her about it first...boycotts and revolts should be saved until you have expended other reasonable solutions to the problem.

if you want to do it that way.

i'd say talk to her after class if you're serious about it.

i think that would be the most appropriate way to handle it. If that doesn't work, then talk to her after school. I'm sure she'll understand.

I really can't stand how every where i go, it's always comment after comment after comment. My boss at my old job before i moved constantly made comments, they never offended me though......for the most part....they just got rather annoying. Even when he was giving me a reference to the new store that i'm at now, he said "there is ONE problem with her....she seems to be seriously stuck in the 70s!!!" HAR HAR HAR. lick me.

lol, my boss is pretty cool about my hair, so is everyone i work with, but then again everyone i work with is a girl. and i handle less food than the waitresses do. but even at the interview he never said anything about my hair, which i thought was pretty sweet.

    P.S. nice pic lucy

I think you should talk directly to the teacher after class. She MIGHT not know that his really gets to you. Many times teachers joke to pal around and try to make you feel they are approachable..maybe she thinks you think it is funny.
I say start out polite. She may not know this is adversely affecting you. And the school doesn't recognize it as "boycotting"-they recognize it as "skipping". You really have no rights as a minor to tell you the truth, especially with self expresson, etc at school.

If it comes down to it then have your parents come in or talk to the principle. It must be against some rule to do this.
