Hello, Did any of the Uk'ers here see that documentary on the other night about the fur trade industry?? I did and thought it was horrific and cruel.. It really opened and enlightened me to what a selfish self centered form of creation we are as people.. How we take over everything and give nothing back in return.. Well for those outside the Uk are wondering what it was about i will brief you in detail and I pre warn some things were not exactly nice.. The opening of it was based in the eastern world such as china and surrounding countries.. This chineese man dragged out this animal which looked like a tiny bear type thing and smashed it twice on the concrete floor killing it upon second strike.. As the program went on it went to explain that over that way fur trading is still accepted in many parts. Then there was a little pause for the adverts.. Once that was out the way they showed a horrific video of a German Shephard being skinned alive. The cries of the animal being ignored by the cruel hearted coward committing a crime upon nature.. During the same video they played a part which may stick in my mine for time to come.. A dog looked mercyful at the man whom it puts trust into and respect.. This man then beats the animal and thankfully they dont this time show the outcome.. During the program a woman goes around a town in the Uk handing out flyers about the animal trade and it made me realise how cruel some people out there can be.. To show no support or attempt towards reading about whats happened to the creature that made their coat.. J'lo is a bitch.. She supports fur trading and redeems it acceptable form of trade.. (bet she would disagree should she be skinned alive!) I am not one to judge but this is a discussion about the fur trading industry and so on... Are you for it or against it?? I personally am against it and the only thing ill buy is leather as i know the animal it comes from was eaten and its skin is being used for another purpose.. Regards The_Warden
I spoke to someone yesterday and they were disturbed by this documentary. I haven't seen it myself but I've seen something similar. We don't need to eat meat to survive so why is killing an animal for it's fur worse than killing it for it's flesh? I believe they eat the animal anyway. Have you seen the PETA KFC video? Those chickens get it much worse than the animals killed for the fur trade. The West find it disturbing to see what they would regard as pets being killed for their fur. I bet the East find us silly for acting like this. I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. I'm disgusted to see dolphins killed for their meat and I get angry when I see bears trapped in tiny cages having their bile extracted using barbaric methods... but then I ate a KFC burger today and thought nothing about the unnecessary pain and suffering the chicken went through for me to eat it.
There are threads and films clips on these forums, when I can find them.. I'm not hiding from the issue but I shall not be watching any more if I can possibly help it. It just sickens me too much.. es, the East must wonder why why act the way we do at such treatment, but dignity is a standard for all of life, and no act should omit this basic right.
