i hate 420 shit it pisses me off, cause its a holiday for stoners COME ON how stoned do you have to be the actuly think of somthing like this, its almost religious no one knows where it came from or why its here, they just do it cause they are told to, so this is my rant, ahaha now i know why carlos mencia sucks FUCKERS.

according to high times, the definition of 420 pretty much were a bunch of kids in california who met up and blazed at 420, they also used "420" as a code to talk about blazing etc. refering to it

No. Carlos Mencia sucks because ALL of his jokes are racial. He simply can't keep his ratings up unless he says the word "beaner" twenty times in every episode of his show. Even his old days of stand-up comedy are shitty race jokes.

hightimes is pretty much the bible to alot of stoners, and since it's probably been just as long or longer then the whole 420 thing, i would trust it's documentation if they publish that as what the belive

 

well think of it, dave chappelle pretty much does the same thing with the racist stuff, mencia is definitly keeping rating by doing "outrageous" shit, he sang some song the other night its was like everyother word was fuck and it was shitty you could tell he was doing it to get ratings, hes pretty much in the place of cheppelle while comedy central puts out season three, and that is a BIG show, most of mencias joke where hes is not racist are actuly pretty funny, but he over extends them and adds racist stuff inbetween and kills it

well, while I completely agree with you on carlos mencia (can't stand him), I don't agree with your views of 420. It's just a day specifically set aside for smoking, and it's just for fun! there's nothing serious about it; it's not a real holiday, but it gives people something to look forward to. It's just another reason to have fun and celebrate. I know some people don't like it under the premise that they smoke every day, so what's the big deal, but, there are people out there who DON'T smoke every day, so it's nice to have one day of the year set aside where smoking is just a given. Plus, it's fun to save up your money, or save up some really good bud you get to have a big smoke out on 420. Plus, 420 marks the COMING of spring (not the day when spring starts), and a prime day to start growing if you were planning to.
I'm one of those smokers who reads High Times religiously. I've bought every single issue since march of 2000, and since I believe that they probably know more about the counterculture than most (if not all) of us here, I believe them when they say 420 started with some kids in cali.
but yes, carlos mencia is the worst comic to have ever been given a spot on national tv. what a waste of money.....almost as bad as [adult swim] putting saved by the bell on (w..t..f)....

 

hey... its just a day of the year where all stoners can say "hey.. today is our day to celebrate and to push further"... everyone has their day of the year.. some too many.. christans have their days... jews have theirs.... postal service has theirs... african-americans have theirs... so whats so wrong with us saying 4/20 is OUR day to smoke and keep fighting the fight?

 

Im all down with 420, dont get me wrong. But I dont see it as a frekin holiday for god sake. You guys make such a big damn deal about a day which was just designed to have one day dedicated to chillen with your buds and smoking. 4:20 all day long, thats all it means, nothing more.
