getting arrested is a character builder anyway. what else is going to instill the proper hatred for the police.
annie, i read the thread where you said that, and I agree that some of the guys were out of line with what they said..just to let ya know.. but I do kind of disagree with the thing I quoted...without a doubt if you call someone..anyone...a bitch or a **** and are meaning it in a mean way then it is uncalled for and is verbal abuse.... however the word itself does not alwaysa have to be used in a mean way...my little profile thing has me as "skye's bitch"...for me..and boy i know im gonna catch hell for this..but in the context it is a term of endearment...like we use it to mean the im his and he's mine and no body elses..like that we mean alot to each other....dont get me wrong, i have been called a bitch and flipped out on the person for it...but it really is about context...wehn whats his name on the marijuana forum used it, it was not in the same context and it was meant in a mean way..but i guess my point is that it is all about the feelings of the person using the word.. if they are using it to mean somethign negative to the man or woman they are talking to then it is verbal abuse..if they 100% do not mean any negative feeling towards the person then it is not.
my roomates and i called ourselves the bithches all the time. 4 women living in one condo...i'm sure you can understand...
perhaps it is in my opinion then for under the rights of free speach would they not have to accept it i know that police officers have cussed at myself and groups i was in before i do not see why it would not go both ways
I babysit a 3 year old girl and a 3 month old boy for a male OPP officer. Over the phone, he once told me "You know, I could always bring up your criminal background and other information if I wanted!" It was a joke, but it really got me thinking.
the difference is, is they have the power to arrest you for disordley conduct, you haven't if you cuss at them! S
Well, this was in the context of woman not being human (in terms of not having all of the rights of a human). So in this case, yes, it would be a good thing.
I've been arrested once for Mischief, once for Uttering Obscenities in Public, one for Obstruction of Justice, and once with no charge (just hand-cuffed shitkicking).
hehe. sounds to me like he's a mouthy major-league pain in the ass who doesn't "know when to shut up." good for him. i admire that behavior.
Refused to identify myself to a cop (pre-arrest mind you, within my legal rights) during an arson investigation.
i totally agree. its only if i call myself a bitch or say "hi bitches" to good girl friends.... but if a man calls me a bitch, whore, **** etc... that is abuse and its wrong.
note i also dont go around calling my girlfriends bitches but when i was younger we would joke about it so i can see how it would be different in that way... men dont use it in that way when they use it. and bitch doesnt even bug me that much its the other words....
i don't see how it could be abusive, it is a word that describes an attitude. simple as it just happens that mostly women happen to have the attitude in question. if you behave spiteful scornful just for the sake of it your a bitch and if you spread rumours about your friends behind their backs your a two faced bitch. however the word becomes derogatory when the generalisation "all women are bitches" comes into play. it then is matter of an individual being judged purely on the fact that she is female and not for her personality. The word bitch doesn't have the same meaning as earlier described. you overstand
