Fidel is not a communist. If he were one, he would have a few more weapons." -E.G., the Che-man = actually he did in the 1970s was prob the most powerfull in central and south america and maybe only Argentina could had put up a fight.
What? I don't see what you're saying, man... But you have a grouvai day by the way- argentina in the '70s- scary ass place
Get a motorcycle? Turn to communism??? Everyone knows suicide-bombing is the only real way to solve these sorts of problems.
Obviously they have a worse environmental record. But their goal has never been to pollute less - it has been to out-produce capitalist economies (which it failed at miserably). Had the two been trying to see who could pollute the least, I strongly believe a command economy would do a better job.
You want to know how we can help bring gas prices down? Here's my idea: if everyone in the United States and around the world would ride a bike (or a tricycle if you can't ride a bike) as their main mode of transportation, I am plenty sure that it would make the gas companies sit up and take notice--for one thing, we wouldn't have to buy gas, which would be a slap in the face to them, and second, it would be a lot better for the environment!
Thats Right! Gasoline And Oil Are The Root Of All This Madness An The Prices Must Be Lowered Along With All This Dumpage! Mother Earth Is Screaming Her Lungs Out For Her Own And Not Univwersal Air For The Sky Has Its Limits! As A 13 Year Old Neo-hippie I Will Not Stand For This! Ill Protest At Sunoco And You Get The Rest.
There are two ways to make something less expensive. Decrease demand (unlikely) Increase either totaly supply (cannot continute to increase at the rate of consumption forever) or the efficiency of production (even less likely, because most new gas discoveries are of lower quality oil [ie. tar sands]).
Hi all, The prices are so hi that if it where get an higher it would have reached the Pearly Gates. BRING THE PRICES DOWN!
the high gas prices are going to affected everything. The proce of food and essential products to rise tremendously, which will lead us into a depression. I wish i could do away with my car and buy a desiel engine so that i could use biodesiel, but i can't afford that because i pay my own way through college. I know it will pay off in the long run, but i can barely save up any money to buy a new car. I wish I could ride a bike around, but I live in suburbia and our public transit system sucks. It would take me 4 hours on a bus to get to school, opposed to a 30 min car ride. I buy my gas from Wawa, which is the cheapest gas around here.
There seem to be a lot of topics on this subject. Anyway, I have been saying the exact same thing for months now. The reality is that we can not boycott the entire oil industry. We all have to go to work etc. What most people do not understand is that the oil companies are working together to restrict refining and artificially rasing the price of gas. This has nothing to do with fee trade or supply and demand. In fact, we have a huge surplus of oil! Last month consumption was down yet prices continue to rise. For those of you who think that high gas prices are good you have to be out of your mind. It will do is hurt people who can least afford it! It is the poor that will suffer. The price of gas not only about the oil industry. The cost for food, clothing, shelter will also skyrocket as gas prices continue to rise. These high prices will eventually lead to inflation, recession and even a depression in our economy. By boycotting one company we can break up this unholy alliance that the oil companies have. I agree with you about Exxon/Mobil. I have no purchased a single drop of Mobil gas since shortly after Katrina. What I do: I buy no gas from Exxon/Mobil or Hess I buy no gas on weekends I buy only from Sunnoco/Shell. Gulf, BP, etc. The beauty of this is that you do not have to disrupt you life at all and can continue to buy as much gas as you want. Just do not buy from Exxon/Mobil or Hess stations. We the consumers have the power. We just have to use it. I also do cut back on consumption where I can.
The retirement compensation package given by Exxon Mobil Corp. to outgoing Chairman Lee Raymond is said to total $400 million when all pension payoffs and stock options are included.
That's a good idea, but you'd still have to buy gasoline! And yeah, it wouldn't cost as much, but there would still be a need for it! I still think that if everybody rode a bike or used some other non-motorized form of transportation, it would send a strong message to the gas companies that we really don't need their product after all! Plus, it would be a great improvement all around! Peace!
