Not always so... some females could be eating healthy, some veggies or even soy products could have similar effects ... Just pulled this off medical journals: ------------------------------ "...avoid seafood, soy, liver and egg yolks as well as pungent vegetables such as onions, garlic asparagus etc., for awhile to see if this makes any difference ..." ------------------------------- There is also a metabolic syndrome called fish odor syndrome (trimethylaminuria) which is caused by abnormal excretion of trimethylamine in the breath, urine, sweat, saliva and vaginal secretions (<http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=10646019&dopt=Abstract>). The trimethylamine is produced by bowel bacteria that break down certain amino acids, carnitine and choline that occur in high concentrations in marine fish, egg yolks, soy beans and liver. While this is a rare condition, it goes to show that bowel bacteria, skin bacteria and your own genetic metabolism interplay with ingested food to produce body odors beyond normal sweat gland oils and acids. If you at all think that the perineal odor smells fishy, be sure to see you doctor for a vaginal exam to rule out bacterial vaginosis as well as eliminating liver, fish, soy beans, egg yolks and any nutritional supplements that may contain choline and carnitine. -------------------------------
bacteria vaginosis causes a fishy smell - mention to her that you want to get STD tested and go along together, its cleared up with antibiotics or cream
Hey, have you gone back down below, since all of this info has been given to you?? Still have an issue with her "smell"? Maybe she just had a bad day? Who Knows!
ummmm......I've never smelled fishy. She has an infection my friend. There are several bacterial infections that can cause women to smell "fishy." This is not normal.
