Hey I was just wondering would anyone be able to awnser a couple of questions for me. I planted a few seed at the begining of September 2005, thats about 8 months ago now. The plants are growing realy well there about 4 ft tall and realy bushy and wide across and they are starting growing pretty fast again now since I transplanted for the third time a couple of weeks ago. I'm growing them indoors with just the sun light from the windows. The problem is that after 8 months there still showing no signs of budding, aren't they supposed to start budding after 2 to five months or something like that? Would normal house lights, like a 60w bulb left on in the room at night be enough to interfere with the dark hours, deos it have to be pitch black in the room? Also the leaves are really dry and always have been, aren't they supposed to be sticky or deos that just happen when it gets near to flowering? Thanks a million, any help would be appreciated alot.
To flower your plants they need 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark. You have to do this every day with no variation in the times.A household light will stop flowering by interfering with the dark cycle. It only takes a second of light to stop your plant flowering. You could try taking the plant and putting it into a closet every night from say 8.00pm untill 8.00am. The closet must be dark and the door kept closed for 12 hours. As I said it only takes a second of light to interupt flowering. Time the dark period to suit your life style it dosn't matter the exact time as long as you keep it the same every day. Remember 12 hours light 12 hours dark. It will take 1 to 2 weeks to start flowering , it will then continue flowering for between 6 to 12 weeks. The buds will not get sticky untill the last few weeks of flowering. Dont get tempted to pick buds untill they are ready. This is when approx 75% of the white hairs turn brown. You will see what I mean when it starts flowering. This is assuming though that the plant turns out to be female. If its male you won't really get much worthwhile smoke. Theres many sites on the internet on growing weed. Do some studying. But to answer your original question stick rigidly to the 12/12 photoperiod.
