I feel like I'm missing something on here

I know this is a free speach site, but its also hippy, in the last couple of days, ive seen threads about being uncomfortable with people when your not sure about what gender they are, hating goths, disliking fat people, flaming threads about disliking certain members.
I know this is also random thoughts, but what happened to truely being a hippy and accepting people and rainbow communities.
if we put a community toghether with the type of attitues that some people have on here as a frame work I think it would end up being a very unwelcoming place, epeically for a goth girley guy like me who could hardly be described as thin

Anyway, this has always been a fairly hateful place and people take out a lot of their aggression and issues on here. All we can do is hope that they are not really that hateful in real life.

 

since it is labelled as a "free speech site". there are those people that think they can say very hateful things, because they cant really get away with it in real life. there is no such thing as a true free speech site, but this site is more free than any other out there.

this place seems to attract alot of flamers and trolls as well.

 

the kid who wrote the goth thing was about 15 years old, coming from some small town to a city somewhere.

I wouldn't take it too seriously, he'll learn to see through style and fashion to see who people are, or he won't.

There were plenty of people like that when i was in High School too

 

I'm not talking about disagreeing with what someone says, but anyway, it just seems a little more negative on here of late.

No matter where you go there are going to be people that do not get along, or agree on anything. People here, myself included, are just a little more vocal about things that bother us. I agree with madcrappie to a point that many of them do it because they cannot get away with it in every day life, but there are those that are like that in their life as well, I'm sure.

Like our parents used to tell us, ignore them and it wont be fun any more.

i don't really think it's any more negative than before, just sometimes shit gets to you more than others. for the most part i love the people here.

we're leaving tomorrow after i do some work, driving to Atlanta to stay with a freind we knew in california, then going to florida on wed and coming back sunday, just a short little getaway, I can't wait though...takes the sting out of my wife going to europe for 3 months...a guys debaucherous getaway

And wow, I can't believe your wife will be in Europe for 3 months! My MIL is going to Ecuador for a month this June and my FIL is fussing about that even!

 

yeah it is kinda sick. i think someone can say though "i hate goths" if they are just talking in general... cause they arent particularly insulting a certain person and then people can discuss with them, like they did.... about why they think that way.

however the threads insulting certain members... like the rape thread about me (because my name was in the title)- isnt cool, wasnt funny and the moderators deleted it as soon as they were made aware. those kinds of things arent cool and its espiecially not cool here.
