I have also read where the weather at the park (the gathering) would be expected to be cooler and windier, because it's at a higher elevation and that sudden light rains or sprinkles can be a common afternoon occurance for some areas in the park. Any one have more info on weather expectations?
I think it's way too early to think about the weather. Hope for great weather, but take on any weather.
I've spent a lot and I mean A LOT of time out in the high country here in Colorado. Be prepared. It does get cold at night. Storms can bring hail and snow. I strongly suggest bringing a lot of sun block, as the UV rays are very strong, and you can still burn EVEN IF THERE IS CLOUD COVER...really! Sometimes you can get headaches from the UV ray brightness. And it CAN get really hot (even at high altitudes). Dehydration is for sure a real factor when it comes to the high country...the air is really dry too. There will be RAPS regarding *altitude sickness* but please so your research on it so you can be prepared.
Bring snow boots, and good thick socks!!! It can always snow at that high of an elevation, and if your feet are warm you are so much better of. If only i had known this before the Utah gathering, i might have stuck aaround for more than 2 days.
I think elevation is going to be a big deciding factor on this question, I really dont think we can answer this till the site location is announced... Mike...
