I'm doing a walk for breast cancer... and more than just raising money its about raising awarness so I plan on dying a streak of my hair pink.... My team and I have named this streaking for awarness... HE HE

    ANYWAY...

I was wondering what kind of hair dye works best? I dont want to have to bleach my hair... so what would turn out decently? I have dark blonde light brown hair... What kind of brands are best... etc etc

    Thanks everyone!

Manic Panic. Very bright, vivid colors but fades quickly (which may or may not be a good thing depending in the particular situation). The fact that they fade so quickly is actually one of the reasons I love Manic Panic...allows me to embrace my inner fickleness.

    cute idea!
I used to use fudge....it would go really bright when I used bleach, but sometimes wouldn't even show up on my regular hair, which is a dark blonde.....so I don't know how that would work for you.

If you just want one streak, and don't want to have to bleach first, get one of those Loreal streaking kits. I can't think of what they're called right now, but you can find them everywhere they sell hair dye, and pink is one of the colors. It goes on bleach and color in one step, with a wand applicator similar to mascara.

If you want permanent color, Special Effects hair dye is the absolute best, way way way better than Manic Panic. I found http://haircrazy.info/ to be very informative, and the advice there proved to be the best around.

i dont know if they still make them but in high school one of the local beauty supply shops sold these tubes that looked like mascara but they were in the hair dye aisle. These things went on just like mascara but were hair highlights in various colors ( i would get fire-engine red) They are super temporary (shampoo and water gets it out completely)

Those would be perfect, i have dark brown hair and it worked for me.
