i suppose she does have a point there, but personally, i like how dark it is. i just love this =) nice work
i disagree i think it is just about perfect at this point. the little variation in shades and lack of major highlights is what makes this piece... it just wouldnt be the same any other way..... it's delightful
Thanks. Flowers....it was lighter this morning. Haha. My boyfriend told me it would look better darker.
I like this a lot. The flowers kinda look like they're moving to me. For some reason they almost remind me of the flowers in the Empty Spaces sequence in Pink foyd the Wall.
aha, you get hit on way too much not saying it isn't warranted, but it must get old, how did you ever stand me when I used to hit on you like every post?
Ahaha! Thanks everyone. I do get hit on a lot, duck. Haha. I just got used to you hitting on me all the time so I was just like....Oh, Ducks making a move again....=P. It never gets old when a chick gets hit on. Haha.
you've got nice flowing lines have to agree with the 'needs more tonal variety' critique. maybe some shading in the background too. balance out the light/dark thing. but i dont think that was really the point of this sketch in the first place. it looks like you had a lot of fun with the shapeforms of the petals, etc. very expressive cheers!
Very nice. How big is this? If it's a bigger drawing I'll agree with the tonal variety critique, but if it's smaller the lack of really light highlights put the focus more on overall shape of the dark flower and the white background which is really great. Either way, awesome. EDIT: I also like your signature. Mine looks like it was done by a drunk 3rd grader.
Thanks everyone. =D Yea....I wasn't too concerned with the background anyway. Acutally, a friend of mine saw it on my Wall O' Sketches the other day and took it so she could turn it into a work on her Body O' Sketches. The drawing looks just like it does posted....only it's bigger. No more background or anything other than what you see.
wow i actually said outloud to myself wow as soon as i saw it....absolutely beautiful, something i would see in an art gallery and want but couldn't afford so i would be standing there for sooo long haha anyone ever do that? stare at something at a art gallery for so long because you know you cant take it home too expensive and you really want it
