1968 and money was no object? spending all summer touring with the Grateful Dead and all winter chasing snowstorms around the country and skiing everywhere I could by the way, for those who weren't around on the old forums, dhs is an abreviation for my original name - deadheadskier
i was here like a month after the new forums went online i think i remember seeing that name somewhere before
another thing i just remembered i would have been doing, i even did a little later, in the early 70s when i WAS able to, is drive arround on the back roads in my cargo type panel van (a 59 chevy/gmc, long bed, with a matrice in the back), picking up hitch hikers, and wherever they were going would be the direction i'd head next. there's a little woven basket attatched to the dash for gas donations with a little sign that says it is. there's one of them camper type minifriges in the back with lots of good munchies for anybody who gets hungry that get's stocked up every time we get near where there's a store of some kind. just drivin arround up in the boonies, pickin up hithchers and takin pichers of interesting scenery, goin where there's good place to take pichers of trains goin by too. there were a lot of little backwoods trains still runnin their last days i didn't get to see or ride that i would have liked to. did a few though. most of the pichers are gone except for a few slides in boxes under my bed. well that's another thing, i'd be riding every train that i could, like the articulated key system cars accross the lower deck of the bay bridge that i never got to, or the cal zepher when it was the w.p. up the feather river cannion. that and lobying for a REAL national or national and regeonals, railroad like all the countries in europe had then, and not just the pale after thought shadow that amtrak started out as. and of course building domes and zomes and all sorts of odd little houses on a piece of land somewhere hell there's a zillion things i would have loved to have been doing. the ones i did were ok, but not even close. as for the concert thing, that might have been ok, but not nearly as gratifying to me as what i'm talking about here. i'd probably made it to a few, maybe more then i did, but i'd be too bussy having fun doing what i mention above and previously to really have much time for them. =^^= .../\...
Did anyone else's serial killer alarm just go off? I warned you about Furcadians... they just ain't right.
