How long does a bag of shrooms last for really? I know the stems turn blue which makes them more potent, yet I always puke when that happens. Question to a pro I guess without a mason jar or anything just bagged how long do I got before they go bunk or some shit.

no the stems turn blue making them less potent, its oxydation of psilocybin or psilocin dont know which. If you puke when its blue its just that your stomach doesnt like shrooms. I hope you like the trip though.

put em in a mason jar, well dried, in the freezer it will last years i would beleive.

I thought blue was more potent, like making Blue honey out of dried ground shrooms with super potency, but what about just leaving them bagged def last like a week or 2 Im hoping right?

Mushrooms don't 'become' more potent, what was in the shroom when you took it out of the ground will remain in it. Drying doesn't make them stronger either.
I know fresh shrooms change color indeed, if you them open I thought the inside becomes a bit bluish, and with hawaiians (copelandia cyan..) it becomes black.
If they're fresh eat them in 4 days, even in a normal fridge they go off. When they go off they give you WORSE stomach cramps. I dont'advice that.

If they're dried however, its probably mold that turns them blue :S But if you keep dried ones dry they last long enough.

get them in the freezer, that will keep them potent for a little longer(put them in a ziploc bag to keep the moisture out!!)

    On a related note...
My grandpa has been dead for a few years and left me his house. In it I found his stash in which were some 4-or-so year old dried shrooms in a plastic bag. This is in Hawaii, just in case the humidity effects it a lot. Would they be any good? Can shrooms become dangerous to eat?

    correct.

it's psilocin which oxidizes, giving the bluish tint. psilocybin is more stable, but psilocin is 1.4x more potent.

so how is it 1.4 times more potent if it loses potency during oxidization?

    it's not; it loses potency

but psilocin can still be recovered from dried shrooms (via dephosphorylation of psilocybin) with extraction in dilute acetic acid, ammonium hydroxide, and diethyl ether.

basically, you grind up the dried shrooms, let them soak in vinegar (make sure the pH is around 4), heat it a bit, filter through a coffee filter, keeping the dilute acid solution, add household ammonia to bring the pH to 8 (all of this done in a large jar, if you don't have a beaker), and quickly add about 50ml (1.7oz) diethyl ether (engine starter...spray it into a separate container, to collect the ether).
(after you add the ammonia, do the extraction with ether quickly; psilocin degrades at pH higher than 7)
swirl the solution, and siphon off the top layer (the ether layer), and evaporate. you now have crude (but usable) psilocin

psilocin is pretty unstable, but using the aformentioned procedure, you can isolate psilocin, recrystallize it (if you are so inclined, and have chloroform/hexane around...this will give you white psilocin crystals), and encapsulate it. considerably less mass is needed (per dose) than psilocybin

On a related note, I can't get shrooms here so have to go 5 hours to get a bunch...was gonna just store them how yall said, but how long does shroom tea stay good? Will prolly make a big batch once I get home and curious how long it'd stay good.

my colleague from the Central TX Dept. of Chemical Ventures and Affairs has some in the freezer (along with some blotter in a jar); it's over a year old, but it would still be active.
