Just got me three bantam auracana chickens that look like this.

Didn't get it together to build a coop outside so they are currently in an oversized cage... in my bedroom! If anyone knows how to build a coop super cheap you're welcome to come out and build it :)

We turned an old shed or something into a chicken coop several years back, and now a huge dog of ours uses it as a dog house. We got rid of the chickens a long time ago. Ours were never caged or anything, they had the chicken house and a cage area. Good times, untill the roosters started killing the hens, and we had to get rid of the roosters...

Chickens are cool because they're so low-maintenence. It's also a great way to get eggs and know you're not supporting inhumane practices. Once they reach adolecense, you should just let them roam your yard freely, and put them back into the cage at night. And why is the cage in your room? Anyhow, pretty soon they'll learn to get back in the cage at night and all you'll have to do is close the cage door. You can probably got instructions to build a coop online. It's really easy. You could probably do it without any kind of instructions. All you need is some wood, nails, a latch, and wood chips.

Dude we got some chickens at our place. We get about a dozen eggs a day. We have about 4 acres of land so we let the chickens run around that land all day, not fun to be cooped up in a pen all day.
