You forgot about how Newt was caught rehearsing with his buddies in the Senate on how he was going to lie to the Senate ethics committee. An elderly couple in Florida picked up his cell phone on a police scanner, taped it, and gave it to another politician. That politician got Newt to admit publicly that he was going to lie in front of the ethics committee. Newt resigned not long after that.

Yeah, and what's worse is that the politician got Newt to admit this publicly in return for not letting the tape out. After Newt admitted, the politician gave the tape to a news reporter. :) I forget who the politician was, but he too resigned not too long after. He was already retirement age anyway.

And people wonder why I'm cynical about politicians.

Now that Iran has enriched uranium, how does that affect the timeline to obtaining a bomb? How has Bush responded? (do not listen to american news)

Neither do i ... but you can always find some article regarding relevant developments [lazy bastard - joke] :

    http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/1151AP_US_Iran.html?source=mypi

WASHINGTON -- President Bush said Tuesday that "all options are on the table" to prevent Iran from developing atomic weapons, but said he will continue to focus on the international diplomatic option to persuade Tehran to drop its nuclear ambitions.

"We want to solve this issue diplomatically and we're working hard to do so," Bush told reporters in the Rose Garden.

Bush also said there should be a unified effort involving countries "who recognize the danger of Iran having a nuclear weapon," and he noted that U.S. officials are working closely nations such as Great Britain, France and Germany on the issue."

"We will continue to work diplomatically," he said.

Bush could open direct talks with Iran. Yet for some reason he's relying on, as Rumsfeld would say, Old Europe.

Bush dropping further - And they said it couldn't go any lower - HAHAFUCKINGHA!

Down to 32% who think he's doing a good job. What happens when it reaches ZERO? Do we get to remove him THEN?

Of course by THEN, America & the Mideast will probably be laid waste, radioactive with the last BUSHITES all dead and rotting... So opinion polls won't matter a bit, cause it will be too fucking late.

    It's inevitable.
None of us can stop the oilwars.
It's only going to get worse as the cost of black gold rises even higher.
Even if we dont attack iran and they dont attack isreal and the arab countries dont retaliate against the U.S. Isreal and europe.... We still get to look forward to the rise of china and the russian comeback.

    Bleak times ahead.

Look forward to ever escalating conflicts and wars (this time against those who are powerful enough to hurt us back..)

    a draft (men and women)

a global economic crash more devastating than any we've seen

more terror attacks (those planned by government as well as those by terror groups)

continued strengthening of the patriot act, Homeland Security and federal government in general (executive branch in particular)

Continued crackdowns on freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and freedom of the press

modern civilization's death throes might kill us all.

If any survive.... they'll be better off putting the industial age of man behind them...

dude, you see it too! I've seen this scenario playing itself out since I was a kid. I think many of my generation have felt this is where America was heading. Ever since JFK was assassinated, the same ppl have ruled (in fact, not name). America has gone to one unnecessary war after another. Killed so many innocent people. We have gained nothing. And now we've lost most of our friends, who at first sympathetic and concerned are now unsympathetic and fearful of where America is taking the world.

It's like we're reaching the end of the game. We cannot continue much longer at our present pace of resource consumption. So something's gotta give. The Roman empire failed for the same reasons the US will fail, and it will bring down much of the western economic system.

People will lose trust in the system, which is all that really keeps it going. They've already lost trust in their leaders. Bush, Blair, Chirac, all stinking bureaucrats at their heart, have lead their countries astray and will soon pay the price.

It's quite likely the US will be embroiled in more wars as long as Bush is in power. It's what you do when you have a failed economy. Hitler did it well. It can revive it to an extent. But once your resources run out you must steal the resources of others to keep growing. Once your reach goes beyond your grab, you lose traction, bog down and the economy comes to a halt.

It won't be pretty. And that's just one crisis. The others are going to be worse! Iran, Israel, Iraq, Indonesia, India (and that's only the I's)

I'd say the best we can hope for is a telescoping out of the time frame. If these events play out over many years, there may be enough time to adapt without terrible hardship for everyone.

But natural or man-made distasters are likely to curtail human activity in many areas, and if we're lucky, they won't wipe out the species entirely (let's leave that to the aliens - finish us off, and it's all yours! A wasted planet!)

Probably so he could coordinate their lies better with Fox News. I hear this guy was critical of Bush at times, so by buying him, they silence a critic on the one network they still have in their corner.

I believe that "those who rule" have world domination plans down to a tee--like a big fun chess game to them.Make the right move--millions of bucks in somones pocket. It doesn't matter who dies or where they die--we're the little people on this earth--the pieces to be moved around at their leisure to secure resources whenever they feel the time and the place is right .That is,if they can't do their dirty work clandestinely. You read ,you listen, you observe--pretty soon you see where it's all heading.Back in '58 ,the U2 crashed in the soviet union.President Eisenhour flat lied up-front and said "there was no such thing--never heard of a US spy plane flying over other countries.OOPS-They had the pictures AND the pilot,Gary Powers! Now,that really shocked me that a president would actually LIE to the world! Then the Kennedys and King incidents.Again the govt.lied and whitewashed the results. So it's pretty obvious that the truth has always been in short supply from those who have the control. What actually surprises me ,is the patience they have shown until now in achieving world domination. But with these folks in power--keeping the american populace fat, lazy, and ignorant(and they now know how easy that is to do)they are showing who they are ,what their goals are ,how they are going about obtaining them, and that they will accomplish them any way possible. It's starting to get rough ,isn't it?Their lies are more blatent, their actions are extremely blatent(WAR) and it's only gonna get worse.Where you gonna be when the REAL shit comes down?Still sticking up for war ,degradation of the planet, stealing money from us-the taxpayers--you know--the republican agenda? And the things they do in my and YOUR name?!!I swear right here and now--if a repub is elected next time--I AM OUTTA HERE!

He's now down to 29% approval on Harris Interactive Poll. This poll was taken BEFORE today's news about details of every domestic phone call being kept in a massive NSA database! So Bush is in FREE FALL! No telling how low he will go now. Six more points down and he passes Richard Nixon when he resigned.

RESIGN NOW AND SAVE THE COUNTRY MORE BUSHIT!
