after almost a year hiatus, i have returned. I have been eating meat for almost a year now and am ready to get back to my roots so to speak. I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas of foods, natural snack foods, and recipes that might be useful to today's vegetarian on the go. I like to cook but often don't feel like I have time. Tell me whats up!! Tracy
I found that when I eat meats that my health goes bad. I now use my crock pot to cook beans with added spices. Makes the house smell good too.
I've just decided to go vegetarian again. Last time I did it, I just stopped one day with no preparation. This time, I'm going to do it over a few months: I'm going to go from eating meat twice a week (limit), to once a week, until finally, never!
Eating the substitute meats (they are usually made of soy) instead of meat at first can help you ease into it.
im in the same situation-i was a veg for a year, then quit. now im a veg again, and this is how i did it: first, stop eating red meat, after a while stop eating 'farm meat' (pigs, cows) then birds, then fish, and if you want to go vegan gradually cut dairy out too. if you stop eating meat abruptly it could mess you up a little. your body is used to fats and meat and needs to be gradually less dependant on it. think of it as being a alchoholic, they just dont up and quit drinking, they have twelve steps. i was so eager to be a veg the first time that i quit meat abruptly and thats probably why i quit. now im trying it step by step:im at the fish stage. im still toying with the idea of being vegan tho
