    Hello all:)

    I am pretty new here. I wanted to share some of my poetry with all of you. I am also into songwriting and singing.

    'The Ravens Call'

    I love the way the palm trees look when the sun
    is rising behind them in the ancient desert at dawn.
    The Sun rises and the Goddess greets him.

    Ancient mystery,she has seen it all.
    Up above, the coyotes howl.
    Dance to the ancient Desert song.
    Mystery comes alive within me.

    Life abundant;behind me now.
    Darkness roams and I sit here waiting.
    Listening for the Raven's call.
    Harken to the desert moon.

    Silently the Raven croons.
    The Stars glistening above me;
    guiding me with their hypnotic dance.
    I am free; my spirit soars within me.

    All the madness behind me now.
    Rising from the ashes.
    Rising from the sadness.
    Laughter roams within these halls.

    Within these walls.
    The walls of my psyche.
    The walls of my mad mad mind....
    Awake and feel the echo of my Soul.

    "My Muse"

    I hear his voice
    and then there is nothing.
    Only him and me.

    I am taken in.
    My soul leaves my body.
    I am no longer here.
    My soul is taken into him.

    Mysterious wonderment
    fills my mind.
    Teases my soul,
    makes me forget.

    Suddenly I am upon the desert sand
    being taken on a journey.
    A spiritual journey.
    His soul is leading me there.

    I see the golden sun,
    I taste the air.
    The beat of the drum speaks to my heart.
    I begin moving,soaring amongst the clouds.

    Dancing upon the Earth.
    Crazy like the wind.
    "We are one.
    All are one."
    I hear as I open my eyes.

    'Death's Kiss'

    She breathed death upon my ear;
    kissing sweet death.
    My slumbering soul fading into oblivion.
    Leaving me alone;fading into the night.

    Oh glorious death,
    how she speaks to me.
    When it's just me and the
    voices within calling out my name.

    Calling to me from somewhere
    between this world and the next.

    My past is golden;mystery unfolding.
    The beat of the drum speaks to my heart.

    I dance and my soul leaves my body.

    It is no longer me;
    I must embrace the feeling.

    Embrace the past;
    free my crazy mind.

    Death,will you dance with me tonight?

    That first one is utterly fantastic... the imagery just fills the mind, the repetition engraves it in and the vibe just takes over. Great use of rhyme as well, working it in subtly!

    The others are good too, the second I had a feeling was about Jim... I've no idea how I guess, there's just something about that style that says, "Jim" haha

    The third explored a powerful theme, very raw... the themes that float through the head on restless depressed nights....

    thanks for sharing these, glad you stopped in!

    Thanks,I'm glad you like them. I am publishing a collection of my poetry thru a self publishing site. I also sing and got back into songwriting this year. I actually stated that the second poem was for Jim.:) He is my favorite poet. I'm a HUGE Doors fan too.:) I wish I could go back in time to the sixties. I was born in the wrong era. lol.-1980. Although,I wanna be in my twenties like I am now. :) Thanx again!
