this person is not worth wasting your posts on. People argue against vegetarianism out of ignorance or guilt. There is no ethical or environmental argument FOR meat that can not be refuted. The "animals eat animals" thing is just as old as the "you won't get protein/calcium/whatever" thing. People have used all kinds of arguments to try to justify meat, including my favourite I-am-not-responsible-for-anything-I-do-wrong one: the Bible argument. If you can hunt down your "food" with your bare hands and eat it raw then be my guest. People have a decision. You can be cruel or you can be kind. It is obvious what the original poster chose.
YAY more applause,,, Damn straight,,, if you can look what youre eating in the eye and kill it right there and start eating it on the ground raw like the other animals do then that argument would make sense,,, any other way ,,, just blowing smoke out your ass,,,
but what a shining beacon of ignorance STL is a mid level troll when he leaves the puffer forums. Ignore him.
No one has really gone into the whole vegitarian environmental benefits. Right there is a huge reason to be vegitarian reguardless of animal rights.
Killing goes against our nature. Not "human nature", the nature of Infinite Oneness. The Law of The Wild is a product of the control matrix, which we are trapped in. We are Infinite Love. Everything else is an illusion. Why would infinite love create a system where things live in fear and are routinely slaughtered as a matter of course? The Infinite One would not wish to see anything hurt or suffering. It is yet another ploy by the control matrix. The matrix feeds on fear, as to the reptilians, which are it's main tools here on earth to cause fear (though they do not know it). Fear is generated through the news, daily life (which has an unlistable amount of little quirks to squeeze avery last drop of fear, stress and guilt from us), and of course nature (three among hundreds if not thousands). Don't support it. Be peaceful and loving. The only way to break free is by rewriting the program. Rewrite it to be a happy, peaceful one.
If you want to get into the science of it.. We are designed to be omnivores. We have a longer digestive tract than carnivores, and shorter than herbivores. I agree that our bodies need a lot a veggies, but we are genetically "inclined" to handle meat too. My wife and I enjoy prefer a "mostly veg" diet (we eat eggs and yogurt, not "off the ground" though) I don't think it was a "rights issue" that persuaded us. If I remember right, I think it was a "weight issue"..LOL
well some people, just don't enjoy the taste of meat, really are animal lovers, so much to the point they can't eat their friends.
I apologize if my humor offended anyone. No disrespect intended. I just think people tend to get kinda' hateful over this subject. I prefer to keep it light. I do thoroughly respect the vegans. Most of my friends are vegans. Maybe that's why I tease. I love everyone equally, and it bothers me to see people insulting each over their views. (people that would probably get along fine otherwise) So, I try a little humor to lighten things up.
Reasons why I am a vegetarian: -I would rather not have the chemicals that are in meat in my body (mercury is one of the main chemicals!) -The treatment of animals -The fact that meat weighs me down -The scent of meat is gross -Vegetarians taste better (you are what you eat!)
I agree. But I would not eat an egg from an integrated poultry farm. But if I had hens, I would eat an egg
Very true. You have to worry about salmonella, hormones, all sorts of bad stuff. I don't mind paying the extra for the organic ones. (our options are kinda' limited since we're currently living in town, and don't have chickens now) Yogurt is a similar situation. You have to buy the good stuff, like Nancy's Once again I must say, that you young people impress me with knowledge of details.
