What would be more feminine; a lip ring in the middle, or to the side? [On the lower lip.] Both my parents had a problem with my dreads, and when | mentioned lip piercings | got a horrified expression back from them. |'ll basically have to wait `til |'m 18, which won't be `til four.. well, three more years.. so |'ll have some time to change my mind about that kind of piercing.. But |'ve seen them on people, and when they get them, it always looks for the better! Except, like my rousing this question, | have seen a few girls with them, and it makes them look boyish. |'m a "tom-boy", but | don't want to look any more "unfeminine" then | do now, if | get a lip piercing. | just think they're awesome! | like hoops around lips the most. But what'da ya think?
i think it really depends on the face of the girl. girls with rounder faces look better with side lip piercings, and girls with more slender faces look better with center lip piercings. but thats 100% opinion.
I had a labret....the center. I think it slimmed my face (I have a naturally round face). I didn't wear big gaudy rings because my piercing was higher up....as I requested it be higher up than usual....I just wore a stud with a pretty jewel in the middle. I like labrets better than to the side of the lip. If you decide to take it out because you don't want it anymore, the scar is more hidden with a labret than a ring on the side of the mouth.
Yeah.. |'m thinking about a side piercing.. |'ll have a ton of time time think about it though.. Ha!Ha! Is there a lot of teeth/gum health issues involved in lip piercing? |'ve heard it can be bad for your mouth.
Hehe, when | got my first piercing, it was on my left ear. Well, ear lobe. So if | get a lip piercing, |'ll most likely get it on the right side... It's a kinda pyshological thing me thinks! |'d be wearing a ring once it healed up. They're so sweet. | read somewhere that wearing a ring instead of a stud could lower the chance of losing gums and chipping teeth. -Mrs.Morrison27, yours looks wicked. Interesting article | found; Tooth Loss: Professor Jimmy Steele, from Newcastle Universitys Dental School in the UK, said people who had, or were considering getting a lip piercing, should take heed of the findings. "The metal of the lip stud is physically rubbing over the gum at the neck of the tooth causing the gum to recede. Once this has happened, you don't get the gum back and it often becomes more difficult clean and is therefore even more prone to gum disease in the future. " The effect is quite localized so it will only be one or two teeth affected - but they are front teeth, so not the ones you want to lose. " He said it was only really a problem for long term wearers. He said that taking the stud or ring out at night-time and making sure the teeth were really clean would help reduce the risk of complications. Yeah. | thought it was kinda interesting anyway.
i love symmetry, and i think center lip piercings are beautiful. but it definitely depends on what you look like. side lip piercings can look just as beautiful on the right person.
When I had my stud in my lip, I always had trouble with biting it, when that happened, it was REALLY painful. I have a tiny chip missing from my bottom tooth and it hurts all the time. That's the main reason I took it out. My gums only bled once with it in, when my dad and I were boxing (he likes to keep me in check when it comes to defending myself)....I forgot to take it out and he didn't notice and popped me a good time in the mouth and it hit my gums really hard. I had a hard time wearing a ring in my lip since I had it pierced so high the ring would bother me, and I tried a smaller one that was too small. I couldn't ever find one to fit right. So, I just stopped trying.
I hate side lip piercings, personally. Middle ones are definitely more feminine, and much more appealing anyway. Yeah whenever I wear studs in mine I sometimes bite it.. And I have part of a fake tooth on one of my front teeth, and I chipped that off and had to get my mom to pay a lot of money to get it redone haha.. Kinda funny but I freaked out at the time. Also I notice with studs they DO rub against my gums more than rings.
One of the reasons | thought might be better if it was put to the side, was because of tooth chipping. At least if a tooth got chipped, it wouldn't have to be one of my front teeth that some-one would be looking at whilst | talked and such. Haha. |'ll have a lo-o-o-ong time to think about where | want it on my lip anyway, so - yeah... my life style may change quite a bit in three years.
