So i was wondering: If you buy weed and dont use it for a long time and the container isnt air tight and it gets all hard and stuff, can you still get a good high from it, or does it loose its potency?

i couldnt say man. to my knowledge, anything that isnt moldy is fine, and they say "dryer is higher" . But heres a tried and true method of freshening up bud:

throw in some orange peels and leave them in for a couple days

it obviously loses its potency, many things will attribute to loss of potency over time.

    but most loss is unnoticeable.

obviously one of three things, ash

    1. achieve the desired effect
    2. achieve a minimal effect
    3. fail to achieve any effects at all

as for weed, it -should- be fine, but depending on the specific conditions and time frame we're talking about it may or may not be somewhat lower in potency or not taste as good. who knows? next time just keep it in an airtight tin or something. "freshening it up" with citrus will merely rehydrate it, possibly add a light flavoring, and do absolutely nothing at all to the potency. it will also increase the chances of mold.

i suggest smoking it. if you get high, smoke the rest....heh.....

but it won't HURT you, i can say that much.

Light, heat and exposure to air degrade marijuana.

Crushing it (like a baggie stuffed in a pocket) will detach trichomes.
The BEST way to store pot is in an airtight container and kept in a cool dark place (such as in tupperware in a fridge).

store it in a hard plastic or metal or glass container in the freezer, it will last a long ass time...trichomes tend to stick to the soft plastic in baggies and such
