There seem to be two camps for the 6.19.04 "Piper" jam at SPAC. One holds that this is one of the epic Phish jams of all time, up there with 11.28.97 "Runaway Jim" and 7.25.97 "Gin."

The other thinks this is a completely overrated jam that started off well, then devolved into endless Page noodling before trying to resuscitate itself with an over-the-top "tweezer" reprise.

I fall somewhat into the first camp -- and i totally wish I had been there!

any other thoughts from anyone who's familiar with it? If you haven't heard it, get it off livephish.com.

I recently downloaded the show. The piper>gotta jibboo jam was fucking awesome, but WOTC was the favorite jam of the night.

But I still listen to that piper all the time! [IMG]

The Piper from 8.16.98 Lemonwheel....starts out with this long slow build up/noodling of the four main chords of PIPER....and then when it gets going oh man, the energy is unstoppable....the PIPER from the VEGAS 04 weekend is also very sick.....too many people over look that weekend and they should give her a listen.....
