Cattahoola are really great dogs for hunting! The got great sense of smell and have been known to track even in water! I almost bought one but got a basset chow mix cuz Im too lazy to hunt but love to pet and the basset chow is too loazy to move and loves to be petted so when Im home we watch tv and eat together, he farts and I spray the lysol. I like the fact that the only training it needs is how to stop attacking. I have spent alot of time researching and any dog that can destroy a police trained rot in less than a minute thru shear brute jaw crushing power to protect his owner has my vote hands down. Police departments dont desire to use them becuase they are hard to call off once they do attack. They were bred to track and kill jags in Brazil, but have been known to kill black bears, attack bulls, wild boar ect to protect thier owners. They have enough jaw strengh to crush the arm of a man in a protective suite. Yup like a 200 pound burglar alarm that convicts and inflicts the punishment for ya all at once.
