As you are aware dvds aren't indestructable they are susceptable to scratches cracks and WHY and how do the companies repay us when one of our dvds is broken accidently GO AND BUY A NEW ONE. Anyway here is a short guide to backing up dvd s to blank dvd media or your computer. almost all dvds are copy protected meaning software you use to burn it does not have the key to unlock the protection. you will need: dvd43free or dvd43 altenatively: Anydvd these programs bypass the copy protection next you will need a dvd burning program which is compatable with the overriders for dvd43/dvd43free use 1 click dvd copy for anydvd use clone dvd 1clickdvd allows you to copy menus etc etc it crushes the dvd down to 4.7gb it is nice and simple to use. clonedvd is my favourite choice made by the same company as anydvd it allows you to remove languages from the dvd remove subtitles and it has the option of keeping the original dvd menu on the copied version it also fits onto a 4.7gb disc. the result a perfect dvd imposible to tell it is a back up :H after you have atained either of the products you will be able to burn back ups. PLEASE NOTE do not use this software do make copies of discs that you do not own. also if you wanna convert dvds to mpg avi etc use auto gk wanna put movies on your psp ? if you have any questions regarding anything mentioned here pm me i will get back to asap.
All handy stuff and info. I was asking myself about how to do all this the other day. Nice coincidence Anyone know is it possible to take out, say 10 minute segments from various Copyright DVD's, piece it together to make a new movie.?
Soliciting, yes. But only if it's for profit. This string is talking about how to do it for FREE. Nobody selling nothing, and no direct links so far.
You would need a decent DVD Ripper for that. Then your editing software. Yeah. It can be done. Takes awhile though.
I wondered if it could be done as this topic involving DVD's and editing, etc is fairly new to me and was simply curious about it all. Illegal stuff with Copyright DVD's I know, but nevertheless the thread helped me answer a few questions I had floating about regarding all this.
