    hey folks! *waves*

a friend of mine ordered salvia from the internet so I'll have the chance to smoke it in a few days. I've talked to people who have tried it and they liked it but I decided to do some research anyway (erowid, bluelight, here...) and from what I've read on the internet generally people don't seem to enjoy salvia. they say it's intense but not in a good way, unlike acid. I've never seen anything like this. There are always people who love a certain drug, even if it's a dirty one like meth, but not salvia. so I wonder, if it's so bad, why do people keep doing it? probably I'm just getting a completely wrong idea, sorry about that, please correct me if needed. I was just so excited about trying it and now I'm like "meh, doesn't sound that good". also, note that I don't want to do it "for fun", I want to experience ego loss. I've done acid, loved it, but through the whole trip it was always me me me, I want to go further than that.

thanks for any advice or opinions. *WARM HUGS* to all of you. sun is shining, SMILE :)

Salvia is somthing like DMT in the experince it brings on... Some people either due to mental heath issues, or just not having a strong mind, cant handle the trips, sometimes they are unexperinced, and lady salvia doesnt let them stay in neverland...

Salvia is not recreational fun, but an intense devotion to the experince.

Yeah sure, look at it lightly if you like, but if you ever want to learn, try to understand why...

I like salvia. It's a cool short trip that takes you to a weird place. And if you meet lady salvia you are bound to learn a lot. Definitely worth a try. But be sure you know how to try it. Otherwise it will be a waste of time and money...

That's because it isn't DMT. It's not supposed to be DMT. It's not supposed to be like DMT. It's supposed to be like Salvia Divinorum. I would argue that many like it; just not the people looking to get fucked up, but those looking to gain perspective.
You don't learn anything ON Salvia, you learn FROM salvia. But since you're obviously arrogantly against learning or even considering alternative ways of learning, I'm sure you really couldn't learn anything from it. Arrogance stems from ignorance and vice versa. So, stick with your synthetically produced toxins, and those of us who care to connect with nature and tap into alternative perspectives of reality will contintue to grow and learn from salvia. It's not a drug to escape reality, but rather examine it.

yeah. salvia CAN teach, but, it isnt really the salvia teaching. its your own mind, coming into contact with nature, which is the only real spirit. its truely an interesting sage.

Uhh ok? I didn't say it was supposed to be like dmt, fuckwad supreme himself, moka, compared the two, so I felt like someone should make sure that people don't actually believe that. Why don't you try reading the thread next time.

    Perspective of what?

Gotta love those ambiguous statements, I can tell you've learned so much on errrrr from salvia.

From a one line post, he is obviously and arrogantly against 'learning?' Wow you are a mind-reading genius, salvia must have put you up on that pedestal you reside on. Must have taught you how to generalize others as arrogant and/or ignorant because they don't believe in using salvia for any sort of mind expanding activities. You've gained such wisdom from the sacred plant, I'm astonished.

lol, toxins? care to expound why a synthetic is any more harmful or safer than salvia? Maybe you can point me to all the assloads of research that has been done on it that show it has no harmful effects?

I do not care to tap into the cookie car you've been eating from. It's all yours, o wise one.

I actually did familiarize myself with the thread beforehand.

My personal experiences are irrelevant to the current discussion; it's a generality. Using salvia can allow one to gain perspective on a vast plethora of personal, social, or metaphysical issues. It's an extremely introspective herb; not a hallucinogen (in this respect, you are correct; it is not like DMT).

Your nihilistic sarcasm is really unnecessary, and unappreciated (not to mention a product of the very postmodern society which hippies opposed); it seems to be a recurring theme in most of your posts. Salvia didn't teach me intelligence; education did. Salvia simply acted as an efficient tool for introspective reflection for me. It's not a matter of genious, but rather a matter of providing evidence for claims. You posted an unsupported, discouraging claim; "salvia sucks, that's wh y very few like it."

DMT is synthesized with oxalyl chloride(aka Oxalic acid, which irritates the lining of the gut when consumed, and can prove fatal in large doses; it's the same chemical used in glow sticks) dimethylamine(used as dehairing agent in tanning, in dyes, in rubber accelerators, in soaps and cleaning compounds and as an agricultural fungicide, and in the the chemical weapon tabun), and lithium aluminium hydride (studies show that excessive consumption of aluminium remain a likely cause of Alzheimer's disease). It might not have any specific harmful effects in the immediate consumption, but the long term effects of usage are likely detrimental to health; as most alkaloids are. Salvinorin A is the first known compoins to act on kappa opioid receptors that is not an alkaloid. In other words; with synthetically produced drugs, you basically get a chemist's lunchbox full of shit that doesn't occur in nature, and wasn't naturally intended to be consumed. With proven safe natural herbs, you get what the human body is adapted to consume.

Your analogy is inane and irrelevant. And again, the sarcasm isn't progressing anything. If you don't like salvia, give some reasons why. But don't just say it "sucks" without at least divulging some information, otherwise you're just discouraging the uninformed and potentially willing.

How is salvia proven safe? And what do the reagants used to synthesize dmt have anything to do with the end product? You're wacked out of your gourd, I'd write a long winded response to your bullshit but I am not very motivated to do so. I don't need to expound on why I think salvia sucks nor did I tell the OP not to try it. The decision they make is entirely their own.

Rather than intelligently debating this with me, clearly you take the easy route and insult me; again, not very progressive for a self-proclaimed hippie. The facts about salvia are easily found on a number of legitimate web pages. It's not my job to bring you research for your side of the arguement; that's your responsibility.

My 'responsibility'? ROFL, Wtf is your issue, when did I proclaim I was a 'hippie'? More like you proclaimed that. Easy way out? You didn't even give a solid answer to one of the very few questions I asked. FORGET ABOUT ALL OF THEM, I DON'T WANT AN ANSWER. I don't need to debate you, you're a nutcase pseudo-intellectual; first you say this dude's arrogant and ignorant because he doesn't believe in the same things you do. From one line from both earlysunsets and I, you make the most asinine judgements. Then you try to include me in some kind of ridiculous argument that I don't even want to be a part of. You act like it's my duty to explain myself to you. IDK what is wrong with you, but you kinda freak me out buddy.
