Life After the oil crash is the story behind the reason for the iraq war Not hypothesis but actual fact - its not the car you drive its the world we live in
I think the article is saying that people who think the oil crisis is just about fuel for vehicles are mistaken. The world will be plunged into war because there will be no oil to manufacture any goods. The whole of the plastics industry relies on oil. The pharmaceutical industry etc etc etc. It is a very easy proposition to find alternative clean cheap fuel for vehicles, but how do you keep a modern industrial/post industrial economy running. The computer you are using cannot exist without oil.
To be honest I did not read the entire article because what I did read was littered with inaccuracies which in my opinion discredits the entire article. Moreover, the point I want to make would make oil production irrelevant! The bottom line is that no matter how you look at it oil is bad for the planet, our health, our economy, and even national security. There are already many safe alternatives to oil such as ethanol and bio-diesel. These are not technologies that will take decades to develop and implement. They are available today! Brazil has already done it and will become free of oil imports next year. Surely we in the US can do what Brazil has done. In fact, I will wager that we could do the same thing in as little as 3-5 years. Hydrogen power cells are another alternative. However, from everything I have read, the technology is too new and it might take many years for hydrogen to be a viable alternative in the near future. However, we should not give up on it either. Our first step should be to get out of Iraq, cease all foreign aid for a short time (sorry), cease funding to the UN. Then, take all that money we have been spending on those projects and use it put ethanol and bio-diesel stations in every gas station in the us. In the mid west US there are already some ethanol stations. If we do this I bet we could have this accomplished in less than 3 years. Once this is done people will willingly have their cars converted to run on ethanol or bio-diesel. From what I understand this can be done for $2,000.00 per car. Low income people should get funding from the government for the conversion. Second step would be to convert existing homes and businesses converted to run on ethanol, bio-diesel, wind or solar energy. I recently heard that in the UK all new houses must have solar panels. I have not thought about the third step yet but I am working on it. However, even if we only get as far as the first step and change how we power our cars, that will go a long way towards improving our environment, our health and lowering the cost of filling up our gas tanks.
There are and have been loads of alternatives to oil for alot of things we quote rely on oil for. If the goverment really wanted us to change to the alternatives they would fund it, they would mandate it, they would have forced fuel stations to instal natural gas and propane pump heads, forced auto manufactures to produce enough of those fuel cars to warrant the installation of the new pumps, forced the use of biodielsel and other bio fuels, forced solar roofs on all new construction, the list goes on but instead they mandate the auto manufactures inprove fuel milage by certain percent on at least one car. They wont mandate change becuase big business is what runs the country and thus money is in the oil baby.
Well, I've got to run to keep from hiding, And I'm bound to keep on riding. And I've got one more silver dollar, But I'm not gonna let them catch me, no, Not gonna let 'em catch the midnight rider. And I don't own the clothes I'm wearing, And the road goes on forever, And I've got one more silver dollar, But I'm not gonna let them catch me, no Not gonna let 'em catch the midnight rider. And I've gone by the point of caring, Some old bed I'll soon be sharing, And I've got one more silver dollar, Repeat three times and fade But I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no Not gonna let them catch the midnight rider.
The fact is, there is no oil crisis. It's all propaganda that's being used to dupe the gullible masses into accepting higher gas prices, as well as the Elite's push for artificial scarcity. If we're going to run out of oil, it won't be anytime soon. I personally believe in ABIOTIC oil, so this whole peak oil scam doesn't faze me in the least. People should start seeing who is pushing this disinformation before they bite. We are swimming in oil. I personally don't like the idea of being oil dependent. I am all for allternatives, and I believe they are necessary for many reasons. However, what's being put forth isn't half as economical and efficient as the FREE ENERGY technology that the government is keeping from the people. If anybody is concerned about running out of oil, it's certainly not the ones running the government. Oil isn't even half the reason for the Iraq War, either, though many people wrongly believe it is.
I think you are all missing the point of the article - perhaps if you read it you would find that they are saying it is not about fuel for cars - that is a ridiculously easy problem to solve. The problem being that there will be, without oil, no plastics industry, no way of manufacturing silicon chips, no pharmaceuticl industry, no means by which to efficiently harvest crops, no means to manufacture a more modern form of technology, basically no society as we recognise that term. Perhaps if you read a little of the article you would see that the main article has links so you can read the source material in depth.
I don't think so either. I wrongly believed it was [so it seems]. What put that logic further back in my mind was that, i doubted it was as simplistic as keeping a grey haired chap and his family rich for the forciable future. Though then it seems it maybe a holistic approach to keep nations strong and powerful and within peace. What inevitably is wrong with that ?. Given most if not all war is reasoned in that manner anyway. If it is NOT half the reason , what is the the overiding reason for this war ?. Does it in antway compare to previous wars within this century [aside from the simplistic comparisons to Vietnam]. Has foreign policy always maintained ''war'' as a option regardless of circumstance. I wonder how popular WW2 would seem nowadays, given global communication. The fact millions died i humbly believe would have made a vast difference in public acceptance of the war. Or was it hat the public knew of the atrocities being perpetuated by the allies as well as the ''enemy'', they just did not care. I think a slow orderly manouvre between clean and dirty fuels is being orchestrated, depending on markets. Regardless of the fact if oil is or is not in scarce supply.
Talking as an Old Oil Field Gang Pusher's wife. My Lynn said back when the bottom fell out of the Oil Fields in Texas in 85'.. they simply capped the producing wells and do not use them. We have plenty of Oil in the USA to keep the USA going for 50 yrs. It's this policy that keeps us from producing. Both Lynn and I have royalty intrests in seprate wells in texas. I wouldn't mind seeing them uncapped and producing again. Then we would have to ruin the rest of our bodies we have left and just live life.
toni RTFM, Its not about oil perse - thats what the article is saying - its about the fact that without oil your so called "civilisation" is about to end - its a hell of a lot deeper than people think. Sure the oil running out is one thing but the dependence on oil for food production, medicines, plastics, silicon chips, aero-industries, space flight, sattelites, all consumer goods, the means of producing alternate technologies, heating, cooking, car tyres, LOOK AROUND YOUR HOUSE - EVERYTHING YOU OWN RELIES IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER ON OIL. Not to mention pesticides, steel production, all electrical goods, natural gas, and nuclear fuel production IF YOU CLICK THE LINKS WITHIN "life after the oil crisis" YOU WILL FIND THAT THIS IS NOT CRAP - THIS IS WHAT ALL THE WORLDS STOCKMARKETS KNOW RTFM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WORLD WAR 3 IS ABOUT RESOURCES NOT ETHICS! sod ethics I want to be warm!
Hello, interesting article. I like to link up with Pressed Rat's believing in abiotic oil. You should read the following link: http://www.spacedaily.com/news/earth-04q.html It explains: "These experiments point to the possibility of an inorganic source of hydrocarbons at great depth in the Earth -that is, hydrocarbons that come from simple reactions between water and rock and not just from the decomposition of living organisms," As depth increases in the Earth, the pressures can become so crushing that molecules are squeezed into new forms and the temperature conditions are like an inferno making matter behave much differently. The team of scientists performed a series of experiments to mimic conditions that occur in Earth's upper mantle, which underlies the crust at depths of about 12 to 37 miles (20 to 60 km) beneath the continents. "Although it is well-established that commercial petroleum originates from the decay of once-living organisms, these results support the possibility that the deep Earth may produce abiogenic hydrocarbons of its own." "This paper is important," remarked Dr. Freeman Dyson, professor emeritus at the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton who reviewed the study. Not because it settles the question whether the origin of natural gas and petroleum is organic or inorganic, but because it gives us tools to attack the question experimentally. If the answer turns out to be inorganic, this has huge implications for the ecology and economy of our planet as well as for the chemistry of other planets." In the mean time, oilfields, mysteriously are getting filled up from far down below earth, it’s already been proven. Several inspectors confirm! It seems that because of the drilling for oil, and the extreme depths they reach, the field becomes weak and forms an easy way or line of least resistance for the real deal here, just under those upper oilfields.. The new truth: oil behaves like it is the blood of the Earth. Like a bloodstream, from out enormous reserves deep down under the earth’s crust, oilveins branch throughout the whole surface of the earth, pumping all this energetic fluid under high pressure to all parts of the world, to vitalize the earth’s crust. Oil must have been one of the main conditions, important for the creation of life as we know it. We are like little mosquito’s, camping on an elephants back, complaining, there’s not enough food. Still today, everyday, everybody keep on farting this so called plant material. In this perspective, the whole oil campaign is just one dirty brainwash! Now, big companies want you to think oil is on short rations so they can drive up there prices. There’s just too much money involved, and so much political power misused by certain people who think they can rule the world. And in a way, they just can and get away with it. For example: Afghanistan, how come hundred thousands of people suffered during that war? Not because of there evil ways but because of OIL. Some folks tried to make a deal here in order to get permission to build oil pipelines throughout Afghanistan. It would be a much cheaper route to the last non exploited oil supplies in central Asia, and not controlled by Russians or cut down by domestic gangs in Kazakhstan. This happens still today. The fact is, the mystic filling up goes very slow, to slow for serious business. Companies and powerful people concerned, invest only in solid deals. So they move on, searching for more profit. But it’s just a matter of decades: technology will come with a solution to drill directly into these holes deep down under. And from the moment the pumps are installed, the oil pricing will turn into one big hilarious joke. And then we get a much bigger problem. Because from that time, China, Japan, Pakistan, India and the whole continent Africa are able to buy cheap energy or create there own fields, just for themselves. So they’ll grow and grow and become important economic powers. We’re talking 2/3 of world population, suddenly taking there cut of the cake. More cars, more industry, more people traveling around the globe, more trading, ships, airports, disease, new viruses, crime, war, stock exchanges, pollution, ozone depletion, smog, acid rain and less space for animals, forest, wild life and clean air. Overpopulation and pollution in full!! Followed by extinction at a maximum scale because of viruses and not enough food for all these new mouths to feed. Someday, it’s probably more lucrative to farm at the moon! Imagine it all. Even nowadays it’s very difficult for farmers to get a fair price for cattle and crop. All the things they must do to prevent there animals, vegetables and fruit for getting sick or too different. I don’t want to think about the giant farms we can expect in the future and the conditions for its poor animals. I can imagine, one day almost nothing eatable for us humans still grows outside. Then we can only fall back on greenhouses with heavy artificial daylight, Try to get real here, when ever in history did people learn? It’s just not in our genes to feel responsible enough to protect our environment for generations still to come. We just don’t do that. We only make master plans how to escape earth if the going gets too tough. Yes, we make deals in order to fight global warming, but its okay if countries fail in doing so. In fact, it’s getting worse and we can’t stop the consequences anymore. It’s a non stop global warming thanks to 50 years of large scale pollution. If we’re lucky, its peak will reach 20 to 30 years from now. There’s no living soul who can make sense and say something real about the climatic changes in that period. Even if pollution stops today, it won’t stop this global reaction the next decades. So how about hydrogen fuel? It works outstanding! But when oil prices are ridiculous low, Outgrowing economical powers will choose oil. Despite the fact I believe we aren’t that civilized in western Europe and all other countries supposedly belonging to the civil west , in future, our cut of the cake will be very small, all our new effort to stop pollution means nothing anymore. We will only be remembered by those new players as the ones who just started it.. It’s really time for good earth management don’t you think? The earth will not die. She just changes. We’re just f*cking up our own habitat. So long sweet green fields of joy, goodbye old forest., will I ever here the sweet whistle of a bird again? I will miss the blue sky and the mirror of the ocean, the taste of her fresh fish. Probably I’m blind, death and toothless because of my age, by the time this is really happening, maybe dead for all I know But to be honest, I’m a little bit excited. It creates new ways of live, technological wonders, People got brains and will learn how to adept. After all, our ancestors survived mayor disaster in the past. Maybe its not in our genes to look a little further, we sure know how to survive. I will remember these days, like today when I’m free to go in peace and enjoy life, now there’s still so much to see and to experience and I just walk outside and breathe safe and free. But I also know that my live is based on one big lie. This lie hurts many other people, animals and other life forms. It’s about the pollution and exploited land and poor countries. Thanks to them, for having nothing at all, we can afford it to live our little decadent lives. The truth is, I just look away and smile as long as I’m all right. The first line I read on this site: The BBC has reported that clean air leads to increased water evaporation, which in turn leads to global warming.' You see, we only think we can do something about it but really, we can’t. It’s just the way it is. Like always I'll make the best of it and enjoy live as much as I can. I'm afraid you've been fooled to like so many people, brainwashed by companies and powerfull people concerned Greetings, Human Racer
If they could produce this for a reasonable cost and with an efficient way (IE one that doesnt use more fuel than the amount of extracted fuel) then certainly they might be on to a winner. I havent had time to check this out fully but Its an interesting subject and I will read more from these guys before posting further comment. As it stands though, it does sound promising but as ever - its going to be whether it is viable in terms of cost and efficiency.
In THE LATE 70S we had a oil crisis "flat out no gas" but prices did not jump . matter of fact gasoline prices only went up a few cents at the most.
This time around its hardly a government you have in the USA. Did you think the mafia would really keep your fuel costs low?
