Hair...

Today, I found out hair does alot too your social standing and how people look at you. Just to start it off I have to say i have long hair to my shoulders which are all messy and are forming into dreadlocks...
Today i went to the mall to get some new shoes... While i was walking to the mall this old man walks accross the path and asks me if i had a smoke, I said no. He then he says "Ill pay"... I told him that i dont smoke. Then Out of ni o where it asks me if i smoke pot. I said sometimes (Thinking back, thats wasnt a smart move). He then asks me if i can get him any weed, i said sorry not that this current moment.

We splet our ways and i go through this rountine zig zag walk to the mall. Well i was walking down this road, this guy asks me if i wanted some hash. I said i cant i need the money i had on me to buy new shoes. I talks me into going to get some hash and i get a good deal he said. Once we get there he asked for my money. I told him im not going to give him my moeny becuase i got burned to many times. He got all sad and pissed off... So once again I splet my ways with another person.

After all of this i get to the mall, get my shoes as fast as i could get them and just ran out of the mall... On the way back I was walking back, I deicded to cut through a school parking lot. Which at this point a white car pulls in with these two college peeps, who told me to come over. I was wondering why and bored so i decided to go to the car... I crouch down beside the car looking in. A moment of eerie silence was over us for a second, becuase i didnt know what these people wanted from me. Then the driver just goes out and asks "Do you have any weed on ya?"... I start laughting my ass off and told them they we're the thrid person to ask me if i had weed or wanted weed. Then the driver said it was my hair that made people think Im a stoner. Then once again i proceed to walk thorugh the school parking lot and went on my way home...

So i was wondering if anyone else has this "problem" or annyonce?

people do tend to discriminate based on looks...as i'm sure many of us have seen.

most teachers seem to think i'm going to be the biggest slacker in the class at the start of the year, just from my clothes and hair/beard.

I aint had a haircut or a shave in at least 5 years. I dont even cut wild hairs off that go in my eyes and bug me and shitt, I yankem out! I get a compleatly differant reaction tho, I get plenty room on the bus and nobody crouds my sidewalk.

 

yea... i was asked last week by a couple walking by as i was gettin ready to do some fishing... if i had any smoke... ya just learn to deal with it man...

ive gotten called emo for my hair cut many time, which is bullshit cause i just just let my hair grow out its normal way, i also dont know what a emo haircut is... or emo for that matter

Yeah I've had people ask me for weed lots, whatever though, just say 'no I don't sell weed'.

 

when my hair was longer and i wore tiedye i got asked all the time for bud and if i wanted bud... but i also drew a little unwanted attention from the other side, so i got it cut shorter and generally stopped wearing tiedye, and now its all cool...

 

If you want to keep it long but avoid the "stoner" stereotype, then wear it up in a Beehive style. Like Marge Simpson.

 

People usually ask me if I want to buy e, whether that has something to do with my hair or not I don't know.

anyways, i've never been asked for anything really, but my hair is pretty "fancy" and i dress pretty high-end so i guess alot of ppl look at me and dont even think i would smoke

 

Be thankful this isn't the 60's, when people were routinely beaten by cops and construction workers for the crime of having long hair.

Dred's back then would've caused straights to do back flips, after which they'd go looking for a 2 x 4.

 

I haven't caught much of that yet. I actually enjoy talking to other tokers, even if they're just looking to buy/sell (as long as they're not being dicks), but I sure as hell don't want to get any negative attention from employers and pigs. Did I mention I got a job and no sign of drug testing until they suspect something..

 

i think it coudl have something to do with regulations for authority. rarely do you see a cop with a beard or goatee or any sort of official with dreadlocks. so people who do have those features come across as being slightly beyond the law

 

when i was 15 or 14 at the movies outside a employee there asked me for a cigarette, so i gave him one. i think my hair and clothes gae it away. or when those guys asked me to smoke with them.
