I watched datelinenbc last night, There was an hour long special on The Avian Flu. Well if human to human transmission should start were all in deep trouble. They're also saying we should have enough food and water to last for 2 weeks, So we don't have to go outside. the Politicians are saying, "Don't worry were on top of the situation", (yeah RIGHT).Well this is starting to worry me ,Im thinkin of getting a month or two of supplies, canned goods, bottled water etc.(oh beer also, haha), Just in case it starts and is similar to The Spanish Flu of 1918. ( Im keepin this short). Is anyone else worried or care?
The government is using the fear of the Avian Flu to try to take attention off of the failure of Bush as president. The shit job all his staff is doing. The war in Iraq The coming war in Iran. The price of gasoline. The failure of most goverment agencies to do their job ect. If they have you scared, they have done their job. There isn't even a way that this could be transmitted from human to human, so unless you live with chickens, who have been exposed I wouldn't worry about it. All that crap about "mutating" there is simply no evidence it will happen. If it starts mutating, we'll see thousands of deaths (or illnesses) in Asia first. But I don't think this will happen. IF it mutates, there is also a chance it could become less deadly. There have been less than 100 people infected the way it is. I am not intimidated. It is like the "duct tape your house closed" after 9/11, while they were busy planning the invasion of Iraq. People were busy buying duct tape and plastic sheets and didn't notice losing our rights, and Bush destroying the Constitution in the process, while he planned attacking the country. It is an attempt to keep you from looking at what is important.
As an infectious disease doctor I know (ex-bf's dad) said, "The bird flu is proposterous." Haha, I love him. He said the same about anthrax.
Somehow, i dont think if there was an epidemic that 2 weeks worth of canned beans would save you. i think whats really happening is the fear of war has been overplayed, but germs! thats fresh
