Hi teepi! I love you! You probably don't even know me, but I love you, and I want your life! :H My mum is MosaicThreads, do you know her? Dh and I are hoping to build, and be as self suficiant as possible in the somewhat near future and we'd love some advice! Why do you prefere wind over solor power? Will you come to our peace festival next summer? Lucifer Sam, I completely agree with you about Ohio, and the weather! I wasn't at that thing at the rock hall last weekend, I had something else going on. Are you going to be at Abbey Road on the River? And, when is it - This weekend? I didn't go last year because my son was sick, I beleive, but my mum and dad (who are the biggest beatle's fans) went and they LOVED it. I don't think it will be as good this year because they moved it.
I went to Abbey Road on the River last year, and I thought it was great, well, expect for this *terrible* George Harrison tribute, but I probably won't be going this year. If it's this weekend, I'll either be out of town or at a family reunion. It's all right though...
LUNAR!!!! I love you too and am happy to hear a bit about your life. Yes, I know your mom, we PM each other a bit. And your brother and I share a birthday...june 24. We do have a couple of solar panels and 6 batteries and a home built generator now, however we did get electric lines brought in as we have a freezer and a fridge that just suck the life out of these batteries and we were having to run our generator more than we wanted. With a wind generator put up at a certain heighth the batteries would be constant in their charge and we wouldn't have to worry about drainage of power...also that homemade generator eats gas. And the sun is not always a constant thing...but the wind is. Even when you feel no wind at ground level...look up at the top of the highest tree you can see and there will be a slight breeze. Even better would be hydro-power if you can harness a slight water current from a running stream or set up a small water fall. We live in the center of 3 hills and have a run off right behind our house, the water really flows in the spring and fall but in the dead of winter and summer its pretty dry. We are kicking around the idea of finishing the building here(we are building a recording studio) and buying something even more remote...I don't relish the idea of building another house but we have someone who will buy this place at a nice profit and it would allow Larry to be home for good and it would be nice to have our land paid for. Oh well, we'll see. Tell your mom I said HI!! teepi
Nice greenhouse. Looks like a hippee home if I ever saw one.I think the southeast part of the state is the prettiest. I haven't been there in a while, but I used to go over to Hocking Hills park and chill out under the waterfalls. I like Yellow Springs, too. Very cool town. Did you all know that Dave Chapelle is from / lives there? I hear that it's not uncommon to spot him on the street during some of their festivals.
I want to be a teacher so bad. Well, I want to be an elementary art teacher.. I am actually planning on starting school here, very soon. I just know that is what I want to do the rest of my life. Anywhoo, I use to live in Dayton, until moved here to good ol' Indiana.. Lucky me..hehe
Awesome awesome!!! I cannot wait! I def. will come up to u and say "hi" if I see u! Wouldn't that be weird if we both moved to Chicago next yr. at the same time. For me it all depends if I get into college up there.
hey i also have grown up in the northeastern suburbs of ohio and have been been a broke teenager, so i know how you feel im from Canton (about an hour south of cleveland), but i just moved to california about a month ago and im loving it! although, there are still certain things i miss about ohio. Lucifer Sam! you live really close to me. if you live in green, thats only a few minutes from where i live. do you go to green high school?
Haha, yeah , I go to Green High School! What school did you go to? That's quite weird that we are that close...
im originaly from lake county up in NE ohio. right now i dont live anywhere, i might be going back there, who knows. but ilike ohio, itsone of the most beuatiful places in america. real good dirt too.
Heh, yeah, sure, I've heard of Glenoak. Wow, that's neat! That's pretty weird you've actually been to my school as well... and, my house is VERY close to the school, just right down the road, so you've also been right by my house!
Awe, teepi, now I feel loved! I love hear about your house! You should start a thread and tell us all about it! We would love to live in a really remote place, but Steve (my husband) has to be close to a big city for work (he works in Cleveland laying floors, mostly for the big offices, musiems, schools, etc.) Peace to you, -Ana
Aww, that really is too bad that you have to live near the city. I hope to move out to the middle of nowhere someday. It's funny, I used to want to live in the city, but now I'm totally opposite of that. And I must say, I too love reading about your great home, teepi!
I love how the ppl. of OHIO are connecting soo far. It makes me smile. And Kilgore Trout I still want that pic. so I can say hello to at the concert !
http://www.users.muohio.edu/wellsml3/ It's kind of a big clunky page, but it does have a few pix. My hair is short right now like on the front page, but no facial hair. Seeya there!
I used to live in toledo once upon a time, but now I live in the cleveland area! Tell me more about yourself PhanPhavorite.
