    These two kind of go together so I'm posting both.

    *****
    Naked and Alone

    (i)
    this life is cry, fly, die.
    helpless you come, helplessly you go
    (for who can stave off death?)

    (ii)
    we have all come here naked--
    needing nothing but a belly-button blood supply
    and maybe a mother's tender breast;
    feeding while cradled in love.

    we will all go out alone,
    taking nothing, not even our bodies,
    leaving to our survivors only the burden
    of all our accumulated "wealth."

    between, we struggle so;
    forgetting our early easy innocence
    ignoring our future forced frugality;
    tell me, where is the reason in this?

    -----

    Remember the Lilies and the Birds

    We are the blessed ones
    for we know that we will die
    we can relax in our knowing
    lose the stress, stifle the sigh.

    We need not put up store
    for tomorrow or next year
    as mortal flesh we have no reason
    not to live our lives in cheer.

    For we might see in mortality
    a gift beyond all grace
    for in it is exposed
    the folly of our rat-race.

    What rot! what waste!
    to work away our bliss!
    our lives are not for sweat and toil,
    it's for joy alone that we exist!

    That's true. So why not choose joy?

    Enjoyed the first one mucho, specially that part (ii) section. I like the pointless existence, the lack of reason. I’m not big on being told what to do and living up to a standard. This life, world, god, collected conscious, or whatever other intangible can throw what it wishes at me, and I’ll do what I do with the same lack of explanation. Touché! :)

    Thanks. I'm still not sure if I want to keep the part (i) in there, it wasn't originally a part of that poem, just a seperate little idea; i think i mostly liked the first line of it so decided to keep it.

    Anyways, glad you liked :)
