plastic cups as thunderstorm protection.....

hey. I heard this idea somewhere and wanted to see what u guys think. It is for seedlings, simply placing a plastic cup over the plant, so that wind and harsh rain cant get to it. Does this seem like a good idea? Maybe even tape the cup to the plants container top so that it doesnt fall off easily. This sounds good to me, what do yall think? ...I would think this cant be done for more than a day or so, b/c the plant probably needs some sort of wind to strengthen the stem....

 

indoor plants don't get any wind, and there stems seem plenty strong.
