This is pics of citral skunk red hair at 5 weeks bloom and harvested shots at week 6. The buds were flue cured for a few days until reaching the right consistancy for toking. There are some issues regarding this strain because last year after I purchased these beans the company who makes them were taken over by Gypsy Nirvana breeders who did not get the original stock from Positronics. They are now labeled as 'Kulu Trading Seeds' and are definitely an inferior product. The original breeders had a trick to producing seed so that the packs had low germination rates but only the 'producers' actually germinated. Out of a pack of 5 beans you'd be lucky if one popped but if it did you were on to a winner. Sadly, these beans are no longer available.
The dried cola pic above is actually half the original size of the cola due to a trimming mistake. I tried to get in deep to get a leaf off the stem and acidently cut the damn thing in half! It weighed in at 14g dried. The grow consisted of a 400w light in a grow tent coming in at around 20w a sq. foot. The actual tent was full to capacity at the time with some huge ganja bushes and this Citral Skunk Red Hair was planted late and only could have 1 or 2 weeks veg. Then it was switched straight to flowering. The CSRH grew a single top cola in 40 days when it was harvested - this was taken about 9 days early off the finishing time of 49 days. Not bad for under 6 weeks flower to produce 14g dry weight. Imagine if you were to grow one bush style under 50w a sq foot? Sadly, I was not able to source the beans again after March 2005 because this was the time of the take over and my stockist of Positronics stopped buying the beans and started stocking Paradise Seeds when Gypsy's clan took over. By the way - it was grown totally organically in a 10" pot and only water was fed from the beginning until the end. The smoke was amazing and this strain loved the nutes in the dirt turning a really dark shiny green. The smell was to die for being a mixture of 80's UK skunk and narcotic candy. Well worth the £10 I spent on the seeds!
It breaks my heart to see those beautiful buds that were flash-dried. Instead of flue-curing, next time try a slower bag dry followed by at least a 2 week cure. No matter how good your pot is now, a slow dry and cure will considerably improve taste, aroma and burnabitlity, plus improve potency by up to 30%.
That top pic was taken by a photographic genious ! See that BIG PHATT trichome hangin offa the bud leaf in the center of the photo a li'l off to the south west? You can see its crystally silloet in the slight shadow of the inner bud . Just fukkin beautifull!
