Anyone peel their San Pedro? Or use some other method to get the good stuff out? The only way I've used San Pedro is by cutting out the thorns, then removing the skin and eating it raw and nasty. I've heard of other boiling methods, but havent tried them. When you boil, is it neccessary to remove the skin?
you dont have to remove the skin per se. i have boiled it both with and without the skin and the potency is about the same. if you were to remove the skin, what i did was use a large knife and stood the cactus up and then cut down, using my eyes to see where the skin ended and the xylem began. it works.
well, if you just cut off the sking them most of the thorns will get removed in the process, but i dont know how big the thorns on your cactus are. the ones that i get are small-thorned so i can just cut off the skin and there is only a little bit of the bottom of the thorn sometimes left in the xylem, which i then removed. another way to do it, if you arent going to remove the skin, is to start by turning you cactus on its side and then cutting it into thin sections that resemble stars. once you do this, once again assuming you have small thorns like i do, you can just remove the thorns from the points of the "cactus stars". f you have big thorns, as with many more sothern cacti, you should remove them before starting anything else.
get some dried puruvian torch flesh cuttings and boil it in water ________^www.google.com^________ yea ya tryin to tire me tire me i can see you infront of me front of me ya trying to tire me tire me why dont you get from infront of me rah!
the medicine is mostly in the skin. so dont remove it. in fact, you can even take a hollow tube and core out the middle of the cuttings. then you can slice it into stars and make tea while theyre fresh, or dry it out and make tea later. strain it.
well... making the tea involves boiling the juice.... and when I say boiling the juice I mean boiling the mushy mush that results from blending all the skins. If your gonna boil an make tea outta that mushy mush then it doesnt really matter if its peeled at the beginning. cause when u make the tea... u boil it till the juice separates form the mucilage... an then the straining process will pull out the fiber and the skin... and then you gots da juicy juice. I recommend boiling it down further after that an adding tons of sugar to it to make a sweet slurpy slurpy slimey sludge thats tasty to eat with a spoon its not the tastiest thing... but its tastier to eat a couple spoonfuls of slurpy sweet cactus sludge than to drink a whole cup of bitter nasty cactus tea Enjoy
if its fresh.. just boil it all mushy an stuff.. if its dry... add some water so it can become sludgy sludge
Try taking dried skins and powdering them in a coffee grinder. Simmer the powder in a solution of 1 cup lemon juice, 2 cups distilled water. The trick is to use only enough solution each time to cover the powder and make it soupy. Simmer on a low boil for 20 min intervals 3x. Strain each time through a metal mesh screen baking strainer, Recooking the cactus powder mush in new solution each time. Gather all 3 boils and strain one last time. If you feel the potion has to much volume, then simmer down to a more managable quantity. Store potion in a ziplock baggie in your freezer. Once its frozen you can roll up the baggie and let all the air out for storage. It should be easy to hide. This method works great for making any combination of ayahuasca plants as well.
