I miss the past, try to recreate it in the present when I feel its absence. Music's one way to get my mind in that space!

Can't say I much of a 'goer' as I am a 'doer.' I get off on working my herbal formulas, being self sufficient (tho I have a ways to go!), and getting into my head. lol Music takes me places I want to go, its my Meditation I guess. Tho did go to the Filmore East in my youth, and Woodstock, concerts, etc. What I want tho, is try to bring that into the here and now. Aint doing that bad at it. lol

i'm a packrat ...still got most of my stuff from the 60s .........so if i want to look at the past all i have to do is haul out my old stuff like beatle trading cards or what not ......but one thing i really enjoy is the music ...just got the director's cut of woodstock on dvd ........good thing too because my woodstock tape was just about worn out ........anytime i'm alone in the house i put the vcr or dvd on and crank it up ....makes the chores so much easier to do

Packrat, thats cool. I moved so much - lost my stuff. Maybe its why I have little interest in moving about now. guess I got it out of my system. lol But loved it, and once in a while the bug bites me, so I go somewhere briefly. Mostly I want to grow my garden, be at peace, and oh yeah, i have the woodstock CD, lost the album. (told ya, I lost everything!) But is great to have that, makes me feel good when I play it Also like others like Moody Blues, Donovan, Neil Young (aint so young anymore ha but still great) - yea to Beatle cards - or should I say "yeah." Make that "yeah, yeah, yeah." :)

The music can take me back, but there's nothing like live, raw music.

For me it's the friends I shared it with - I'm lucky in that I only had a few and we get together once or twice a year - climb a mountain and listen to all the favourite tracks with some beer etc except later on we realise we're not reliving anything - just still having a good time,if that makes any sense.

Failng that - I go up on top of a mountain alone and play all that shit. Can't beat it

As summertime approaches there will be music festivals and hippie gatherings, a good way to get your hippie fix.

Keep in mind, the past is a nice place to visit but you don't want to live there.

I live in the eternal NOW!!

The past is gone, the future hasn't arrived, in fact, this post is from another time, which is gone.

    Eat worm-hole and thread-universe theory.

i'll admit, i'm young, i'm 15, but i do live in the past

like i don't listen to music from the newer generation on perpose, i only hear it when i'm walkin down the street and some guy's blaring rap in his car

and then friends of mine are like "hay, have you heard this song?" and it's from bands that i've never heard of.

and then they do the whole "jeeze, where are you living? i can' believe you've never heard of them"

and then i have to come back with the "it's not where, man, it's WHEN!" lol

but yeah, livin in the past can really mess with ur mind

My way of holding onto the past is by refusing to let today's world change my attitude. I still believe in good, and love, and harmony no matter how messed up thing's are around me , because the basic truths back then are STILL the basic truths now.
