Ohhh, dial-up is HORRIBLE. My dad announced we were getting DSL earlier this year and I danced all around. I thought he'd never conquer the modem monster. Turns out it's just a tad bit more to pay for DSL in a package than dial-up with everything else we had. Woot! Jerry, Ad-Aware is a magnificent thing. I'd highly recommend it. And hacked versions of Norton Systemworks (illegal software? I'm innocent, I swear!). My computer was all sorts of buggy, then my boyfriend wiped my harddrive and installed those two programs and I haven't had a bit of trouble since.
Well ever now and then, my dad has to re-install Windows XP on the PC, due to Viruses etc. I mean so what if you put Viruses on the PC through looking at Porn!!?? I look at Porn whenever I am in the house on my own in the evening. It does worry me though when there are viruses on the PC every now and then, and my dad has to re-install windows and download all the Pop-up stopper and Norton Antivirus programs. I ain't a perv, or anything, but I just can't help it!!! :&

Yep, SPY-Bot or Spy Nuker ... mind you I have a hard time finding a free dl these days. Wouldnt your anti-virus system have spyware scan?
