Man, that would be hilarious. PETA has a good cause but they go about it like maniacs. They never put out any good points just show disgusting videos to get people to stop eating meat, atleast from what ive seen. They usually have no idea what theyre talking about and just think animals are too cute and fuzzy to kill. Processed meat itself is disgusting anymore, but there isnt really anything you can do about it.

If I had a PETA office/headquarters whatever they have around here, I would. Someone needs to knock PETA in there place. Theyre like the george bush of the enviromental rights organizations. Never have any idea what theyre talking about and always talk about the same thing with slightly different words.

 

OK, first of all Bob Dylan is not condoning the murder of cows, he's just singing about leather boots. fucks sakes...

second, cows shouldn't have to die so we can eat them. in response to the person who said we wouldnt be able to grow enough veggies for everyone, we could grow veggies everywhere that there are now cow pastures and slaughterhouses. one field grows a lot more cobs of corn than cows.

and no, we shouldnt have to kill predators just cause they kill things to survive, they keep the balance, they dont kill off thousands of weaker animals and ship them off to lazy ones of their own species who cant get food themselves. nor to they keep them all in a pen and kill them when they're ready. they have to hunt for their food.

i dont like to say this about people beliefs, but i will. anyone who condones meat eating is wrong. plain and simple. you cant be right by murdering billions of creatures a day and comsuming their corpses. you just cant find any rational argument for that. if it was people, youd think it was awful opwn your eyes people!

First, MagicMushy, sorry dude, you're wrong about that barren farm land bit. Takes something like 4x more land harvest to make beef vs veggies. Just less efficient with that middle step.


That being said, Nalancer, sorry dude, you're wrong too. Humans are naturally predators. Humans are naturally omnivorous. Eating meat is how we were designed/evolved/created/whatever. It is natural. We have forward facing stereo vision, canines, and the ability to digest meat. Not a matter of opinion here, rather scientific fact. You sound like a Christian trying to argue that the world is flat.

OK, pretty much everyone agrees that the modern meat industry sucks. Factory farming is horrible. I did not see a single post saying that factory farming is OK. So you PETA folks already have that concession and need to stop beating a dead horse.

The ideal solution would be if everyone who wanted to eat meat had to raise and kill their own animals. That would bring personal resposibility back into the equation and make people grateful for where their meat comes from.

So jump a fence, stab a cow to death, cut him open, carve out the piece you want and enjoy.

No see, im not talking about the land. DUH! Im talking about the fertility of the land. It will eventually have no nutrients in it. Then your choices are to pretty much shit in it to have enough to fertalize fields. Then hepititis will go rampid! Also, I dont agree with mass slaughter houses processing meat, although buying from a small dairy farm, sure why not. The reason there are mass slaughter houses is to keep up with the demand.

Also dont tell someone theyre wrong because they have a different belief. Dont be ignorant. People who are peta fanatics and try to push becoming a vegan down your throat are wrong. Meat has been eaten every since people were around, get used to it.

 

It would be awful if it was people because that's how we're wired. We are a social animal, and so killing a fellow member of our own species is pretty gruesome, especially for sustenance. In a similar way, we don't kill certain animals that we regard as special, such as cats and dogs and horses in America. Some other cultures regard that as odd, just as how we may be bemused by India's adolation of the sacred cow. In that sense it's culture. But getting back to the main point, you cannot find any rational argument against the basic act of eating meat either, on any sound moral basis. It's part of nature. We are omnivorous, and it's just the nature of the food chain.

 

I hate to break this to you but I grew up near a farming community. All those veggies you eat well, small rodents and animals are trapped and poisoned to keep the crops safe. So animals are dying for your vegetables.

When I saw the Victoria's Secret commercail I just thought, "oh, who is that dirty old man? Ew. He must be famous or something otherwise he wouldn't be in the commercail." Then I went to get a new bra and saw his Victoria Secret Lovesongs CD being sold at the counter, realizing, Holy shit that old weird dude was Bob Dylan! I laughed... I still think it's all a big joke.
