Anyone else collect vinyl? I recently took over my dads collection and added about 150 new titles too it. Anyone know of a place to get good cheap vinyl? preferably 33's
Flea markets and garage sells are worth checking out. But you gotta watch for scratches, etc. Just Google Vinyl records for loads of hits. I'm transfering all mine to my computer.
There's a really good store around here called Recycled Records. Maybe you could look around for a place like that.
My English teacher has over 300 vinyl records, he brings them to class and we sometimes listen to them. Maybe I could ask him where does he get them.
I know a few good places...but it is pointless to tell you cause they are a used book store and a CD/record shop that I go to... I only have a few, but I only buy ones that I really want, are cheap (ex. Flock of Seagulls for 2$, or The Rainy Daze, no clue who they are, for 25 cents) or that are just rare/nonexistant on CD (ex. "Twist and Shout" Canada Beatles LP)...most of the ones I own are the ones my brother didn't take when we ripped them from my mom and dad
I collect. If you're looking for specific LP's and can't find them locally, try GEMM. (use the advanced search feature to filter on vinyl) http://www.gemm.com I haven't browsed the site much lately, but it used to be a much better alternative to ebay. Reason: it's a very competitive dealer market, and their database functionality was too cumbersome for anyone but the most dedicated dealers to bother with it - dealers with lots of stock. So you get none of the private sellers that you have on ebay (i.e. morons).
thank you some much for the link, i found some of the vinlys i need to fill out holes in my collection
Yeah I collect.But I haven't bought any in awhile.I got some good shit..Hendrix,Jefferson Airplane,Cream etc...,and alot of 80's metal.:$
I've about 1500 vinyls and buy between 4-10 per week there are about 8 good 2nd hand record shops in dublin as well as tons of charity shops but the quality from those can be a bit suspect.
