This thread is being written a few weeks later than I wanted but if you listen to the media you hear all sorts of excuses by oil industry representatives about low supply high demand boutique fuels refining capacity you name it. What a bunch of bullshit. No wonder they don't make any sense.

Would somebody please get to the fucking point. Even liberal commentators don't seem to have the brains or the balls to be able to get the picture or tell it like it is.

It's totally simple. If you own oil wells and the price of oil doubles your cost of production hardly varies and you make twice as much money. Sure they may buy some oil at market price but a lot of supply is their own production.

    Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

What to do of course for the nation and consumers is more complicated. The high price discourages comsumption which is good and encourages alternative fuels which in this day an age is essential if the country wants to surivive in any way shape or form. I'll simply say that the high profits need to be put to urgent use and I don't mean drilling for more oil. The economically disadvantaged need relief.

The CEO of Phillips/Conoco made $13 million in salary last year and has a stock option possibility of $190 million. That's for one single person for one single year. Think about it. What's he got an incentive problem?

Tell him to go fuck himself I'll never buy there again.

The CEO of Exxon Mobil was handed tons more can someone cite the figures?

I haven't bought there for years.

Agreed. One does what one can. I buy my own gas at Citgo (Venezuela) but I don't advocate fossil fuel dependence in any event.

they can charge us whatever they want because people are gonna buy oil anyway. we might not by as much but everything in someway shape or form uses oil. it sucks but its the truth.
